About this deal

Methylparaben: An antifungal preservative used in a variety of personal care products like makeup, body wash and shampoo, methylparaben is used to keep cosmetic formulations fresh over a long period of time. The Ingredient List: Certain lube ingredients are known to cause vaginal irritation and/or infections—including glycerin, nonoxynol-9, and propylene glycol—so these are best avoided. You’ll also want to stay away from parabens (i.e. any ingredient with a name ending in -paraben), which have been shown to disrupt the endocrine system. Finally, steer clear of any lube containing sugar or sucralose, unless you want a hell of a yeast infection. Glycerin: Glycerin is a non-toxic, gentle substance that gives water-based lubricants that “slippery” quality. It’s safe for use with latex and silicone—which makes it desirable to many users who are looking for something that works with latex condoms. However, oils are not suitable for use with latex condoms or other latex birth control methods. Additionally, oils can clog the pores in the skin and cause skin irritation and infections, or change the pH balance inside the vagina. While parabens are controversial and glycerin is thought to potentially cause yeast infections, Astroglide Gel has been around for a long time and is widely used without many issues.

ASTROGLIDE Ultra Gentle Gel and ASTROGLIDE Glycerin & Paraben Free Liquid are both great choices. Not only are these lubes fragrance and coloring-free, but they’re also made from ingredients that have been tested and proven to provide comfort and enjoyment. If you’re worried about having a bad reaction, try applying your new lube to a small section of your forearm to see how your skin reacts before moving on to more delicate areas. Personal Lubricants Aren’t Just for Sex Although sex may be the first thing that springs to mind when you think of personal lubricants, they aren’t for intercourse alone. Steer clear of desensitizing agents, such as lidocaine. Some lubes that are specifically branded for anal sex contain these but they could stop you from being able to feel the pain that indicates an injury so you won’t know to tell your partner to stop. (None of our recs contain numbing agents.) Many lubes contain glycerin, which is a byproduct of sugar; Some experts advise avoiding this ingredient, as sugar attracts yeast, which may lead to an infection. That said, many people are fine with glycerin in commercial lubes, so if it works for you, it's safe to use. we just started using the new ultra gentle gel and WOW! What an improvement! Super smooth with no irritation whatsoever and didn't need to stop to reapply. One application lasted as long as we did "A person may wish to try natural oils such as olive, virgin coconut, peanut, and vitamin E as alternatives to lubricants. The lubricating effect of oils can last longer than water-based lubricants. Glucono Delta Lactone: Also known as GDL, this ingredient is naturally found in a number of foods and is used to reduce the pH in food products , as well as cosmetics like soaps, lotions and hair products.

Water-based, silicone-based, or hybrid lubes can work well, as can liquids and gels. If you’re relying solely on stimulating yourself with your hands, you may opt for a water-based liquid lube like ASTROGLIDE Liquid. This lube is also safe to use with toys of any type. Most of ASTROGLIDE’s water-based lubes can be used with condoms without compromising their integrity (meaning they won’t cause condoms to rip or tear more easily). They can also be used with toys like vibrators — even those made of silicone material. Some Examples of Water Based Lube: Astroglide Gel is pretty well-reviewed, given its rather easy to find this product for sale online and in just about any drug store or supermarket. However, most of the reviewers were men, not menopausal women: Avoid petroleum products like Vaseline, and skip natural oil-based lubricants like coconut oil, too, if you're using a condom. A word of warning: natural oils (like coconut oil) and oil-based lubes may have the right consistency, but they can erode latex, which is why Sinclair says to avoid using coconut oil or almond oil when using condoms. If you're using sex toys, she also suggests avoiding silicone-based lubes with sex toys. "Using silicone lube on a silicone sex toy can cause bending, warping, and the ruin of a toy," says Sinclair "Use a high-quality, water-based lubricant instead."But there’s one caveat with silicone-based lubes that’s important to keep in mind: They can degrade the material of silicone sex toys, meaning it’s not the best option if you’re planning to use toys. And, if you’re using a condom, you should stay away from oil-based lubes, as they can break down the latex. Experience the difference of natural ingredients. Choose ASTROGLIDE Organix Liquid for a natural and paraben-free option that enhances pleasure without unnecessary additives or harmful chemicals. Ingredients There’s no need to have one kind of lube for in the bedroom and another for water play — a hybrid lube formula can pull double duty. Just remember that, like any lube that contains silicone, a hybrid lube can put some serious wear and tear on your silicone toys, so avoid using them together. 4.) Oil Based Lubes If you’re looking for a lube that is seriously long-lasting with a luxurious silky feel, oil-based lube can be a great go-to. I was extremely satisfied! True to its promise, this product made sex way more comfortable & enjoyable for both of us...I highly recommend " After menopause, the ovaries stop producing eggs, leading to decreased estrogen levels. This can cause the skin and tissue of the vulva and vagina to become less elastic, and people may experience vaginal dryness.
