I'm happy with the end results and can't WAIT to read THE HEIR, to see of their are any hints of their life together (secretly hoping Cass will do something with that). As much as I wish the cover was purple I do actually like the white. Before the reveal I was dreading the wedding dress color because it just seemed so typical. I think purple would have really looked nice with the other covers, but this one turned out better than I expected. And am I the only one that thinks her dress looks super edible? Really clever concept and some great characters and twists. It's a real joy to read something totally original, smart and thought-provoking. It sounds like a better idea than it is, it has this weirdly addicting, saccharine-sweet junk food quality, and it has zero nutritional value. Netflix has adapted the book into a series, and it only takes a viewing of the trailer (below) to realize that the show is incredibly different than the book. Before we get into those major differences, though, let's take a look at the book. If you've read it, this will serve as a good refresher course before you dive into the show; if you haven't, brace yourself for some megaspoilers. (Though I do implore you to read the book!)

For example, a team that is divided is disconnected and powerless. A team that is united is connected and powerful. The same applies to you. When you feel a sense of oneness, connection, and unity you feel strong. When you feel separate, you feel disconnected and weak.

The queen competition just didn't feel realistic to me - you would think that every girl chosen for this competition would've been an excellent choice for queen (after all, why risk anything?) but all the girls seem so flawed and ill-suited to the task. America, you are full of nothing but bad ideas. Great intentions but awful ideas.America doesn't know anything about foreign policy, internal politics or even basic palace manners and yet she was chosen! This girl doesn't even like to study - is this really the girl you want in charge of the country? There are now so many ways to find your perfect match... but to what cost?.... can you really ever be completely sure who your meeting. Turns out neither is entirely accurate. The book has gory moments...because one of the people seeking his match is a serial killer...but it is not anywhere near as bad as I'd thought. Also it feels more dystopian then Science fiction. I liked this book SO MUCH.

There are 5 alternating character POVs so we can follow along as they set out to test the success of their One True Match. I wont give you any more details, but suffice to say, nobody's perfect 🤷🏼‍♀️😈... Ethical dilemmas abound. Rebecca finally admitted the truth to Matheus to gain his trust. She also admitted that she gave Matheus’ brother money, the same money he used to buy the heroin that led to his overdose. Matheus seemed ready to leave his soulmate for good when David Cooper (Paul Brennen) appeared.
