Also, he might be dead, since it seemed unlikely that someone capable of such a cold-blooded murder would have kept his nose clean for the past fourteen years. DACHSHUND THROUGH THE SNOW is book three in Roxanne St. Claire’s heartening, dog-related series, THE DOGMOTHERS. This story can easily stand alone. However, it is best to read the prior books and the spin off, to better understand the three families and how far they have come.

But even if they manage to get the dog under their Christmas tree, that might not be where the little fellow belongs. And maybe, just maybe, Yiayia's heart can be healed by a completely different kind of love...the kind that only comes at Christmas. Agnes Santorini, known as "Yiayia" to her Greek clan, only has one thing on her Christmas list -- a brown short-haired dachshund that matches the one she dreamed about, certain that pup can save her aging heart. When she learns that a local man has this very dog for adoption, she and her partner-in-crime, Gramma Finnie, leash up their current doxies and join forces with their great-granddaughter to get their paws on the pooch. They meet every demand, overcome every obstacle and Agnes shares secrets from her past when she was 18. As she shares her secrets, she also reveals why this doggie angel is what she needs to save her. It might be 88 degrees outside on this sunny, June afternoon yet, in my opinion, there is never, ever a bad time for a really good Christmas story. And that is exactly what you’ll find in ‘Dachshund Through the Snow‘ which is the third story, a Christmas novella in ‘The Dogmothers‘ series. The most recent title (the fifth) in this series has recently released, and I need to get caught up on this series so this unique story full of Christmas love was the perfect way to spend a bit of time. While not a Christmas Romance in the strictest sense of the phrase, Yiayia’s story is overflowing with information we’ve been looking for about her change of heart and lifestyle – and is definitely a love story, the most beautiful kind where that love shines through on the people who need it the most. Andy’s team has been unstoppable in this series, and this book is no exception. Andy’s relationship with each and every one of them is my favorite part of the series, and reading Rosenfelt's books is as comfortable as slippers and hot chocolate.”— Madderly Review

When Simon, a K-9 companion needs representation, it’s Andy Carpenter to the rescue! When Simon’s handler decides to retire, he asks Andy to file a suit allowing Simon to retire early due to disability, instead of having Simon transferred to another handler for a year. Simon, you see has arthritis and bad hips - and if he were human, he would be granted early retirement but given the fact that he is a dog, he is not granted such accommodation. Seeing as Andy has a love for dogs, he jumps at the chance. Happiness began with the news of a new andy Carpenter being released. A smile started when I received this new release in my hands. And then I began the latest Andy Carpenter book (on CD).

These are books you love for the characters. And I love that Laurie is able to twirl Andy around her little finger and he knows it.

Laurie has never come across a charity she doesn’t like. That’s fine with me because we are quite wealthy as a result of my inheritance and some lucrative cases I have handled as a criminal defense attorney. She keeps searching for new ways to share our good fortune, and she keeps finding them. As with duvet covers, bed sheets are incredibly important for a good night’s sleep because the quality of the sheet you lie on is essential for maximum comfort. With the same choices and benefits as the duvet covers, bed sheets are key in making your bed feel fresh and clean with their crisp feel which will improve your quality of sleep. Apparently the killer had had no other run-ins with the law, before or since, because his DNA was not in any database. Every few years the Paterson Police ran it through the system, hoping for a match, but they were always disappointed. Dachshund Through the Snow is one of the best in the series. A couple of authentic laughs, a lot of smiles, some warm fuzzies. a very clever mystery, and some good quality time with old friends—it’s a genuinely good time.” — The Irresponsible Reader This book which contains legal drama and high stakes criminal investigation is the 20th in the Andy Carpenter series. This is only the 5th I have read, but I intend to read more. Narrated by Andy, I always enjoy his witty, sardonic sense of humour and his sarcastic thoughts and conversations.

The cause of death was strangulation, and in addition to the killer’s leaving behind his DNA in the skin under Kristen’s nails, the same DNA was found on a piece of discarded gum and a half-consumed beer can near the body. In the intervening years no match had ever been made. The partial fingerprint on the beer can was not enough to yield a match. Today, I live in a small beach community in Florida with my husband and two dogs. Our kids are off to college and law school, which means my nest is empty! I spend my time writing, working with the kids at my church, enjoying my husband's gourmet cooking, and hanging with my many writer friends. Of course, I love to read. I’m still crazy about words and stories and hope to write at least a hundred books in my lifetime. And, yes, verbs are the key to life. My favorites? Love. Work. Believe. DACHSHUND THROUGH THE SNOW is a heart-warming story of an aging woman’s search for redemption during the Christmas season. I am generally not one for Christmas stories, yet this one warmed my heart. I cannot wait to read more of the Dogmothers’ shenanigans. Her mother had called the police to say that Kristen had not come home one night, an uncharacteristic action for the eighteen-year-old. But not until thirty-six hours after that was Kristen found near Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson, New Jersey.

I am so fond of this series. It's uplifting, fun, engaging, and full of animals and characters who are well written and believable. I really like it that Andy is trying to do his (sometimes imperfect) best in a world that can be cold and unfeeling. This book left me with a warm fuzzy feeling and was a perfect cold weather read with the holiday theme and justice prevailing and all that. Agnes Santorini is on a mission and she brings her best friend, Finnie and great granddaughter, Pru along with her on a hilarious “scavenger hunt” type running around on Christmas Eve. These three run into all kinds of obstacles on their journey around Bitter Bark to find that perfect dog that is just out of reach. Agnes has a secret she has kept for many years and when it comes to light there is healing and forgiveness. I did manage to find the time to marry and have two children, both of whom are doing very well, and fortunately neither have inherited my eccentricities.
