About this deal

Cocoa straight off the bat, fading into smooth gin, a touch of vanilla and creamy melted chocolate. (F)

Juniper and zest at the fore, sweet hints of dried, spiced orange peels combine with sleek, smooth apricot. (F) So we decided to try if a cocoa infused gin could work. Our first thought was that it would taste horrible. We ended up with more than 20 different versions and found something really delicate and special about the final version.’ The Spirit of Masham distillery is owned by Cork and Cases and located on a small business park just outside Masham. It is open to the public so visitors can learn about the gin-making process and see the copper alembic still, which is used to create their “Spirit of Masham Gin”. This award winning gin is made using cocoa beans from York Cocoa Works. It is a delightful subtle, sublime chocolate on the nose along with the traditional botanical flavours. It is also a nod to the history York has with its chocolate factories, Terrys and Rowntrees. York Gin Roman Fruit With: Dry gin, Dutch white crème de cacao, orange flower water, vanilla extract, pasteurised egg white, single cream and champagne.Just imagine a melt-in-the-mouth praline washed down with a sip of rich red wine or a Dark Chocolate Baton accompanied by our Mint Chocolate Cream Liqueur. Who could resist? You can even enjoy a tipple in delicious chocolate form with our Tipsy Truffles H-Box– we’ll drink (and eat) to that! Cacao Gin

We say: Cream and a touch of rich dark chocolate smooth scotch whisky and gin without smothering them. This may be a creamy drink but it remains 'serious' and far from being a sweetie. Our personal favourite thing to mix gin liqueur with? Hot chocolate. Yep, you read right – gin liqueuris beautiful with our rich hot chocolate to create a creamy, indulgent treat that will thrill your taste buds. The Little Red Berry Company are a multi-award winning company based near Ripon. They have been producing alcoholic liqueurs and flavoured gins since 2011 when they took their first Yorkshire gins to Otley Show for locals to sample. Chocolate gin has been attempted in the past with Ely Gin but this could legally only be classed as a juniper-flavoured dark chocolate liqueur.Pro Tip: This one is a little on the strong side and I definitely need a mixer for it! Its strong taste means you can mix it with flavored tonics or even ginger ale. I love it with a pink peppercorn tonic. Jaisalmer Gin 4. Jaisalmer Gin, India Put your chocolate in the microwave on high power for a total of 40-50 seconds, but only in 10 second bursts, stirring in between to ensure it doesn’t burn. Stop when fully melted.

The gin has a beautiful fruity aroma but it doesn’t taste sweet as no sugar has been added. It keeps its gin-ness because of this so a true gin lover would not be disappointed.

We say: It's not sweet, but it wavers on the sweet side of balanced, so I'd recommend enjoying after a meal. But it’s not just our Cacao Gin which is popular. Gin, in general, has seen a renaissance– or ginaissance as it has so charmingly been named – in recent years. The past decade has seen it go from being a staple of your grandparents’ cupboard to being a staple of trendy bars everywhere – quite the glow up. So whether you’re hosting a dinner party, planning a birthday bash, or simply cooking for a loved one, you may like to make sure that a gin tipple is on the drinks menu. Their more recent offering, Hedgerow Gin, is crafted in small batches and brings together the flavours of crab apple, nettle leaf, sloes, elderflowers, and rosehip. Sloemotion recommends serving this with a dash of tonic and a sprig of thyme. With: Scotch whisky, cherry brandy liqueur, Dutch white crème de cacao, dry vermouth and orange bitters. Citrus notes are the star here, with lots of lemon zest and tangy lime. Juniper remains constant, with oily pine notes. . (F)

Their London Dry Gin is distilled with 11 botanicals from across the globe, including hibiscus, green pepper and rosemary. Best served with tonic and a slice of pink grapefruit. Slingsby London Dry Gin Pro Tip: Mix with Azaline Vermouth, either shaken or stirred, for a martini full of rich flavor. Use 1 part vermouth and between 3 and 5 parts Herno gin, depending on how strong you like your martini. Use ice in the mixing, but strain out the ice to serve. Elephant Gin 7. Elephant Gin, GermanyWith strawberries and lavender grown on the shores of Rutland Water. It’s fruity and sweet, perfect with tonic or lemonade. (F) Stieven Victor, director of Xolato, told the Martini Whisperer: ‘We wanted to make something different from everything that was out there and were already into chocolate with our Belgian chocolate brand Xolato. We say: White crème de cacao's sweetness is balanced by dry sherry and the acidity of Sauvignon Blanc wine which also adds grassy floral notes.
