About this deal

The Titen HD stainless-steel screw anchor for concrete and masonry is ideal for when the job calls for fast and efficient installation in multiple types of environments. The Titen HD stainless steel is a state-of-the-art anchor solution that combines the long-lasting corrosion resistance of Type 300 Series stainless steel with the undercutting ability of heat-treated carbon-steel cutting threads. From testing to service to availability, everything we do is engineered to ensure your project's success. With every product, you know you are getting the quality, value, service and on-time delivery that we have built our reputation on for the past 60 years.

Drill a hole in the base material using the appropriate diameter carbide drill bit as specified in the table. Drill the hole to the specified embedment depth plus 1/2" to allow the thread tapping dust to settle and blow it clean using compressed air. Overhead installations need not be blown clean. Alternatively, drill the hole deep enough to accommodate embedment depth and dust from drilling and tapping. Spacing between the anchor and an unsupported edge is less than other types of anchors because the Titen HD anchor is not an expansion anchor and does not apply energy against the base material. As a result, the minimum spacing required for all diameters of the Titen anchor is 3-inches.

For design in accordance with the IEBC Chapter A3, the URFP may be used as a one-for-one replacement for the alternative connections shown in Figures. Models THDC25238CS6SS, THD37212CS and THD37212CS6SS do not meet minimum embedment depth requirements for strength design and require maximum installation torque of 25 ft. – lb. using a torque wrench, driver drill or cordless 1/4" impact driver with a maximum permitted torque rating of 100 ft. – lb. Use the hammer drill and carbide bit to drill a hole into the base material. The hole should be about a 1/2-inch longer than the length of the anchor. Many of these products are approved for installation with Strong-Drive® SD Connector screws. Model No.

Allowable loads have been increased for wind or earthquake loading with no further increase allowed. Reduce where other loads govern. The drill bit used to drill the hole for the anchor must meet ANSI standards. Hole size is equal to anchor size. The diameter of the anchor being installed is equal to the hold diameter that is drilled into the base material. For example, if the Titen HD anchor is 3/8-inch, then the hole must be 3/8-inch.Align the hole in the fixture with the hole in the base material and then insert the Titen HD anchor through the fixture hole and into the hole in the base material. Spacing requirements for the Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchor are less between anchors and an unsupported edge because the Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchor is not an expansion anchor and does not exert force against the base material. The minimum spacing requirements for all diameters of the Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchors is 3” Titen HD® Minimum Edge Distance Post-installed concrete fasteners need to be placed a minimum distance from an unsupported edge. The rule of thumb for expansion anchors is five times the diameter. The Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchor’s minimum distance from an unsupported edge is 1-3/4” for all diameters. Titen HD® Inspection The hole drilled must be larger in diameter than the diameter of the Titen HD anchor. It is necessary to determine whether the anchor will fit properly through the fixture hole before the hole is drilled into the base material. Models THD37134H and THD37212H do not meet minimum embedment depth requirements for strength design and require maximum installation torque of 25 ft. – lb. using a torque wrench, driver drill or cordless 1/4" impact driver with a maximum permitted torque rating of 100 ft. – lb.

It is easy to remove, so it’s ideal for temporary anchoring of formwork, bracing, or for applications where fixtures may be moved. The drill bit used for drilling a hole in the base material for the Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchor must meet ANSI standards. Hole size is equal to anchor size. The diameter of the Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchor being installed is equal to the hole diameter that must be drilled into the base material. If the Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchor is 3/8” then a 3/8” hole must be drilled into the base material using a bit that meets ANSI standards. Hole Size Uplift loads have been increased for earthquake or wind loading with no further increase allowed. Reduce where other loads govern.Titen Turbo delivers what pros want — consistently trouble‑free installation, and fastening strength they can depend on. Material

With nearly 60 years of field and R&D experience, Simpson Strong-Tie ®timber connectors are manufactured to the industry's highest standards. From framing angles to straps to heavy-duty joist hangers, we offer the most diverse product line so that you have the right product for the job. Type 300 Series stainless-steel screw anchors have different corrosion-resistant properties for different environments. When matched to the appropriate environment and application, anchors made from Type 300 Series stainless steel will resist the effects of corrosion and maintain their strength and integrity. With a hammer drill and a carbide bit that meets ANSI standards and the same diameter as the Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchor being installed, drill a hole in the base material. Drill the hole a minimum of 1/2” deeper than the Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchors will penetrate. Corrosion Resistant— For dry, interior applications, carbon-steel corrosion is not a risk, but in any kind of exterior, coastal or chemical environment the anchor would be susceptible to corrosion. With the introduction of the THDSS, there is finally a state-of-the-art anchor solution that combines the corrosion resistance of Type 300 Series stainless steel with the undercutting ability of sacrificial heat-treated carbon-steel cutting threads. The Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchor is manufactured in carbon steel that is heat treated, and is available in zinc plating or a mechanically galvanized finish. Codes and Approvals

The anchor has been heat-treated to create tip hardness for better cutting. It can be installed using a standard-size ANSI tolerance drill bit and cuts into concrete with 50 percent less torque than other anchors. Each anchor bolt requires a standard-cut washer. The Simpson Strong-Tie® Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchor does not require a washer. Prescriptive" denotes spacing requirements per the IEBC and designs per the IRC and conventional provisions of the IBC. Availability with either a hex head or, for a smoother installed profile, a T30 6-lobe-drive countersunk head Patented Torque Reduction Channel that traps dust where it can’t obstruct the thread action, reducing the likelihood of binding in the hole
