Penny is BORING. She has zero personality aside from her unconditional love for James. She actually thinks to herself in the book that there is no her without him, because she has no identity outside of her love for him. SEE A THERAPIST. He does! The drama is contrived. The sex scenes aren't as hot as they could be because Penny and James really don't have a connection outside of sex, and some kind of emotional connection would really help. Two books were more than enough, and that is evident because of the third and fourth. However, I would've thought four would be the absolute maximum as far as being able to squeeze any kind of plot out of this series. There are four more. FOUR. MORE. BOOKS.

His ex wife has it in his head that he's simply addicted to Penny and the sex they have . . . and honestly, I can see it. This is the side dilemma of Penny and James in this book. He's addicted to her and she doesn't deserve him, blah-blah-blah. She's trying to convince him it's not addiction, it's love. You know the drill. It got annoying after awhile. Penny meets a sexy, handsome man in a coffee shop and they have an instant chemistry. On the first day of her public speaking course at college, the man is revealed as her new professor of communication. Will they be able to keep their hands to themselves when they see each other so often? Will their forbidden love flourish? Can they have a true relationship when for all the others their status are making them forbidden to each other???

Ah it's finally here! And I can't wait to see what you think of the next installment of Empire High! I’m entirely self-published, and I love the control that gives me over my stories. Well this one particularly was a roller-coaster of emotions, hot scenes and really enjoyable,interesting play between our two main characters. I never gave up. I never let anyone tell me no. Penny and James each have some hang-ups thus the series is filled with many difficulties as their relationship progresses. It also has a lot of suspense.Everyone loves Professor Hunter. He's tall, dark, and handsome. And completely unobtainable. But it's the secrets hiding behind his deep brown eyes that allures Penny. Secrets darker than she could ever imagine. WOW!! Just.... I,... WOW! Ivy Smoak has clearly outdone herself with this one! What a way to round out an amazing series with characters I have grown to know and love. She really knows how to write in her characters' minds and make you see and feel all the nitty gritty emotions and turmoil. This is one of those books/series where the hero and heroine truly are strongest when together. They complete and balance each other on a very vital level. There are times where they take turns being strong for each other. Some readers may not like a heroine that is not strong and fierce all the time. But I think there is strength in admitting how you feel, even if it is self-deprecating, and fighting for those you love regardless. I think strength comes about in different shapes and forms. These tow people, Penny and James, are vital to each other. Oh, how I'm going to miss them! Overall, I actually really enjoyed this book even though it was a little cheesy at times. It was an easy read and the characters and storyline were pretty good. I’ll definitely be reading the next book, so I’d definitely recommend it.

Penny and James nearly splitting up because of •Isabella trying sabotaging them - I cried like a baby Nine words to describe James Hunter: Poised, enigmatic, jaded, blunt, charismatic, dominant, elusive, possessive and non-committal. James Hunter was created perfectly. The hot young professor who pushes away his student before giving into his lust. And let me tell you that when he does give in, he does it in style. That scene in his office, on his desk was hot. He was rough but you could tell he genuinely cared for Penny. I actually love him I believe anything is possible if you’re tenacious and not willing to let go of your dreams. I still pinch myself knowing how far I’ve come after all the nos I received early on. I found a love for reading in elementary school. I was in the lowest reading class and I was determined to work my way up to the highest. So one summer, I read and read and read some more. And I never stopped. I fell in love with stories. But even though I did work my way up into the highest reading class, I never would have dreamed to be on the other side of the stories I loved so much.
