Whilst reading this book I massively related to the section about rap music, so came up with my own example; "I'm a Feminist but I love rap and hip-hop music that regularly refers to women as bitches, hoes, whores and sluts". This book made me understand that the enjoyment of this doesn't necesarily make me a "bad feminist", and although many of these lyrics are mysogynistic I can still enjoy this style of music that makes me feel like a badass bitch.

Dolly Alderton, author of Everything I Know About Love Very funny, very clever, very thoughtful and very relevant a b Fetherston, Sinann (6 July 2017). "5 Feminist Podcasts for a Woke Commute". RTE . Retrieved 15 September 2017. A thorough look at how to be a better feminist and a better person, but manages to be funny and entertaining too ... I really appreciate that it looks at what we can practically do to make things better This is the story of Wu Zetian, who as ‘Chinese Emperor’ helped to spread Buddhism in China. This is the story of Genghis Khan’s powerful daughters, who ruled his empire for him. This is the story of Christine de Pizan, one of the earliest feminist writers. This is the story of Victoria Woodhull, who ran for president before she could even vote for one. Had a fantastic day… If you’re a (feminist) woman or non-binary person who wants to work on being able to occupy space, to use your voice and make yourself hear, this is a fantastic chance to do so.” – Reubs WalshWhen people laugh their defences come down...[the podcast is] mostly comedy, it doesn't feel like homework.

From government policy and medical research, to technology, workplaces, and the media. Invisible Womenreveals how in a world built for and by men we are systematically ignoring half of the population, often with disastrous consequences. Caroline Criado Perez brings together for the first time an impressive range of case studies, stories and new research from across the world that illustrate the hidden ways in which women are forgotten, and the profound impact this has on us all. I’m thrilled to announce we are bringing Big Speeches to you! From the comfort of your home you can take our course that will boost your confidence and help you take your space in any room. As always we work with the breath, the body and the voice but we are also asking new questions… How can we be charismatic online? How do we build or restore confidence after these unprecedented times? How do we engage with people in space again without fear?

Aš feministė, bet... Taip šios knygos autorė Deborah Frances White pradeda savo podcast’ą tokiu pačiu pavadinimu – „The Guilty Feminist“. Šį pratimą ji sugalvojo tam, kad feministės IR feministai galėtų nusikratyti dažnai šalia šio judėjimo einančios kaltės ir rasti daug bendro. Kad feminizmas neatrodytų svetimas ir tolimas, o pasiekiamas ir kintantis. Kad galėtume pripažinti, jog nesame tobuli, kartais klaidingai vadovaujamės kvailais stereotipais ir mums dar yra kur augti, bet vis vien norime kovoti už tai, kas yra be galo svarbu. I went into this book not knowing what to expect. In all honesty, I saw this book in the "New release" section in Waterstones, and as soon as I saw the word "Feminist" on the front cover, I thought "Yes Sister! I just HAVE to buy this!" Elsewhere, Frances-White makes cases for everything from the fun of makeup, to it not necessarily being better if little girls dress up as Spider-Man instead of Elsa from Frozen (“There is an implication that male traits are better than female ones”), through to “bridezillas” constituting a power grab (but only because most men aren’t remotely interested in wedding preparations?), and how perhaps a well-expressed catcall signifies a celebration of female fertility, when men are “fertile until they die”. A feminist podcast where actions speak louder than words". Stuff. 2020-02-18 . Retrieved 2020-09-01.

Verdier, Hannah (3 November 2016). "The Guilty Feminist: is it OK to watch Beauty and the Beast in your wedding dress?". The Guardian . Retrieved 15 September 2017. The Authority Gapprovides a startling perspective on the unseen bias at work in our everyday lives, to reveal the scale of the gap that still persists between men and women. Would you believe that US Supreme Court Justices are interrupted four times more often than male ones… 96% of the time by men? Or that British parents, when asked to estimate their child’s IQ will place their son at 115 and their daughter at 107? Red Slicing through the fun and foibles of twenty-first-century womanhood with deft and funny prose, the book covers everything "from our noble goals to our worst hypocrisies". Existing fans of her podcast and newcomers alike will love this irreverent guide to a very modern tug of war a b c Bromwich, Kathryn (30 October 2017). Yet her future is in doubt. The State mandates that all women marry by the age of thirty – or enrol in a registry that allows them to be monitored, effectively forfeiting their autonomy. At twenty-eight, Jo is ambivalent about marriage. With her ability to control her life on the line, she feels as if she has her never understood her mother more. When she’s offered the opportunity to honour one last request from her mother’s will, Jo leaves her regular life to feel connected to her one last time. a b Gupta, Alisha Haridasani (2020-02-22). An eloquent, entertaining read that does not shy away from serious issues including pornography and the gender pay gap You turning up to a party in trainers or a kitten heel isn't going to make the world a safe, better-represented, more liberated place for women to live in. You could argue that your choices about heels, make-up, romcoms and career help to create an empowered headspace important for your feminist agenda. Mumford, Gwilym (22 August 2017). I give it 4 instead of 5 because I felt like although the length was justified, with a few more edits, it could have been more potent. (Perhaps the interviews being written like essays? I don't know.) Soho Theatre 1-4 November: https://sohotheatre.com/events/the-guilty-feminist-7Australia 2024 dates coming soonThank you to our amazing Patreon supporters. I loved it though and should be mandatory reading for all/most feminists in the western world. It's also given me more confidence to get out there and take up space and not apologise and can the whole 'if it's okay, if you don't mind, I know you're busy' shit. I'm a guilty feminist. There, I said it. I believe strongly in women's rights, but seldom dare to voice this fact, for fear of being considered 'one of those types'. As such, this book was of great interest to me!
