About this deal

Before long they get wind of local folklore and legends about their property- and Helen is even given the side eye, with locals believing she’s been called there by Hattie, an alleged witch who died nearly a century ago. The place is supposed be haunted by Hattie- but of course, there’s no such thing as ghosts- right? Nate and Helen buy the land and begin building the home of their dreams. They are building it themselves and adding some pieces of local history to their master plans. I have given this book 2.5 stars for the wedding scene and Stella (heroine). Stella is unique and different, well for her work, hobbies, senses, and chocolate giving habit. These were the only things I liked in this book. It gave me a glimpse of what happens in the perfume and business world which I liked and now I am going to research secret diaries and probably buy one, they sound really interesting.

Stella is with her husband who is an investor for the film. Hal is on the yacht to do a story. Hal did not know that Stella was married. Oh no! Some people, they have magic in their veins. You're one of them. You and me both. Can't you feel it?" Helen and Nate decide to go for their dreams instead of trying to compete in the never-ending rat race of the city. They move to Vermont, buy a parcel of land and begin building their dream house. Therefore, if you want your romance book to have some heat in it, go elsewhere, this doesn’t have any good hot scenes in it. It is more emotional than being hot. But still, there is more business talk than the talk about emotions - so there is that!

When four former schoolfriends receive an anonymous invite to a reunion at a beautiful country house they guess it’s from Elle, the self-appointed leader of their little gang. Rome 1953: Hal and Stella meet by chance at a glittering party hosted by the Contessa, a fundraiser for her film project. Oriah is first and foremost a story-teller, a lover of words and symbols and the stories that lift our spirits, open our hearts and offer us ways to see patterns and create meaning in our lives. The focus of her life and work has been an on-going inquiry into the Sacred Mystery. Her writing, teaching and personal journey all explore how we can each become the individual we are at the deepest level of being and how we can co-create meaning together in the world. Blending humour, insight and compassion for our human struggles Oriah encourages herself and others to be ruthlessly honest and infinitely kind toward our own strengths and our weaknesses. Since invites expire, prompt follow-ups or resending of invitations is necessary if no response is received. The Invitation is a story of taking chances in love and life. It would appeal to readers looking for a fun, easy read with a spritz of heart.

Of course, it wouldn't make for a very interesting story if our couple didn't buy some haunted land rich with paranormal activity and a violent history, right? Right. Not me being so into this book!! Some parts of the writing that I was skimming over, maybe some parts didn’t flow that well for me, but the story overall was great.Moore, Kasey (December 13, 2022). I always get excited about a new Jennifer McMahon book. I've mentioned before that I became acquainted with her work quite a long time ago when I devoured a few of her earlier novels, namely PROMISE NOT TO TELL and DON'T BREATHE A WORD. Best action I did that day. From the first paragraph to the last, I was in love with this book. It had strong, clear characters. They were unique to them. Each strong and willing to go to the wall for what they believed in. This strength was consistant throughout the story. There’s also a risk of unintentional bias, as hosts’ selection might favor specific guest profiles.

Invitations are time-sensitive and expire after 24 hours. It can also create additional work for hosts and potential missed opportunities. Still, Helen is fascinated by the history- while Nate has been drawn into the mysteries of the local wildlife. Something is off though. Also, did I mention how atmospheric this book is?? The setting was positively eerie, and it made everything seem even creepier. It includes how it works, its benefits, and potential challenges, and what will happen when an Airbnb invitation to book expires. The Idea Behind “Invite to Book” Weaving the characters’ history into the story, which is well done, just takes up a lot of “extra” time.
