What happens when I reach my destination station? When you reach your destination station, you draw a new station card. London Underground was the worlds first metro system constructed in the 19th century. Transporting millions of commuters in and out of London every day, Londoners have a love-hate relationship with the Tube. The same thing can be said about the timeless game of Monopoly, with many remembering dreadfully long gaming sessions in their childhood ending in quarrels and tears. Once you have completed your routes, you can hunt for additional routes. The game ends when you run out of your coloured trains. A great London board game for school-age kids as well as adults that takes about 60-90 minutes to play. After playing this game, our visits to London Transport Museum became even more interesting!

And you could be forgiven for presuming that it plays too fast and seems too simple for there to be many strategies involved. But I think you would be wrong!If you can’t access that symbol (or you don’t want to), you do not draw a connection. The 6 Street cards also contain symbols which work in the same way. In there somewhere, however, is also a handy switch symbol that lets you split off from any station on your current line to the symbol shown on the next flipped card. The London Game follows a set of official rules, but house rules can be introduced for variations. Routes, even if this seems less direct. For every different coloured route that is used a travel point is awarded to that player. During this phase, all players can claim points if the passenger takes a route along their lines. However, it is the decision of the active player to determine the precise pathway taken. Score as many points as you can by optimsing the routes of the four underground lines on your map in London. Poverty is taken off your score at the end and so London is all about using your turns efficiently and running your city at the perfect time to gain the most while minimising the penalties. But to do that you need cards and the only way to get cards is to draw them and plenty of them, which of course can put you in a position of needing to run your city and taking the hit. Having a double-sided board, this does increase replay ability. The Berlin side provides freshness. There is also a different set of bonus points in scoring too. Instead of Big Ben, the Berlin destinations are indicated Berlin’s Fermsehtutm. This is a tall radio tower with a viewing platform and revolving restaurant. More About The Game Then there are station closures too - the good news is that if you roll a 6 you can open and close a station of your choice, but bad news is so can your opponents!

The game ends once all of the destination cards have been drawn. The passenger will visit about half of the underground stations as they will visit at most two of the four displayed destinations on each turn. The player whose lines have attracted the most journeys and have gained the most points is the winner. Players must move around the map to get along to their stations, so for example, if a player were at Lancaster Gate Underground station, and they rolled a two on the die, they could go to Notting Hill Gate in the west or Bond Street in the East.

This is a game for 2 to 4 players ages 13 and up, which I think is a fair age category.
