She is the only girl who wanted to be friends with Lilo, even if she was "weird", as Victoria claimed to be weirder. Personality-wise she was a mean, dramatic character, probably because I was feeling quite angsty at the time. Well, I wasa teenager! I also remember feeling very free and excited during that period in my life. So I channelled all these energies into Victoria Stitch and she became like my alter-ego. She was (and still is) very special to me. I ended up writing and illustrating a picture book about her on my foundation course for my final project. Wisklings are fairies, born from jewels and living safely in the wood, protected by magic. They have wands and blooms (enchanted flowers) to fly on. The whole world of the wood is described in delightful detail and it seems that most Wisklings are satisfied with their life there - except Victoria Stitch, who will stop at nothing to achieve her ambitions. I actually created Victoria Stitch 15 years ago, when I was 19! She’s always been my most special character that I’ve taken through life with me because she just embodies everything I love: glamour, glitter, gothic-ness. AND she’s miniature sized! I have ALWAYS known I wanted to get a book about her published. Victoria Stitch loves to sparkle Can Lavinia help Mirabelle stay out of trouble? And can Mirabelle show Lavinia that maybe some things are worth getting in trouble for. . . ?

Fun fact: this is the first time we meet the mermaid Emerald, who has gone on to have her own spin-off series! This book also features a return of the mermaids Marina and Princess Delphina! Victoria Stitch is finally Queen of Wiskling Wood, along with her sister Celestine. She is also proud aunt to Princess Minnie Stitch-diamond baby and next in line to the throne. When old enemies resurface and kidnap Minnie, Victoria Stitch is intent on revenge. It’s time for her to ride again and remind these Wisklings that Victoria Stitch is undeniable, incredible, and almost certainly unstoppable.
