Autumn’s Gate: Autumnal Equinox: Second Harvest: Mabon Sabbat

Midsummer celebrated in Finland & Sweden – Midsummer started as a pagan ritual for fertility and a successful harvest during the Stone Age. Bonfires were used to keep away any evil spirits. Mabon or the fall equinox is the second harvest festival. Traditionally, it’s when fruits and vegetables are harvested, when autumn begins, and when Wiccans believe the Goddess moves from Mother to Crone. It’s a time to give thanks for all that has been provided. November 1: New Moon in Scorpio – delve deep into shadow work, examining negative, compulsive, or addictive behaviors and learning what lies at the root of destructive behaviors. Process emotions that you normally push aside because they make you feel uncomfortable. This is where the real work gets done. Exact time: 8:48 a.m. EST Sept 23 – MABON / Fall Equinox: the light and darkness are in balance on this day. But it marks the change from the light half of the year to the dark half of the year.
