About this deal

Regardless of how mildly or heavily flavored it is, pale lagers are the perfect beer style to pair a meal with. Like many pale lagers, this particular brew goes well with various meals.

Brewery ( pronounced Zhi-vietz; Polish pronunciation: [ˈʐɨvjɛt͡s] ⓘ) is one of the largest breweries and beer producers in Poland. Founded in 1856 in the town of Żywiec, the brewery manufactures pale lager with a 5.5% alcohol volume. Grupa Żywiec S.A. consists of five main breweries: Żywiec Brewery, Elbrewery, Leżajsk, Warka Brewery and Browar Namysłów. Currently, the Dutch Heineken Group (Heineken International Beheer B.V.), with a 99% shareholding, has control over its major operations. The brewery has the capacity of producing 5 million hls a year, making it the largest brewery in Grupa Żywiec. The brewery produces several brands of beer, usually pale lagers ranging from 5.6% to 9.5% abv, including Żywiec Jasne Pełne or Żywiec Beer, a 5.5% abv pale lager, which has been brewed in the town of Żywiec, Poland for almost 150 years, and Żywiec Porter, a dark porter once brewed in Cieszyn Brewery. One thing we appreciate about the flavor profile of this lager is that although its maltiness is quite pronounced, its overall flavors are minimal. Hence, if you enjoy mildly flavored beers, you may enjoy this beer.Today, there are thousands craft beer premieres every year ( 2457 new beers in 2018 alone), their market share is growing, but is still relatively small. With higher quality comes a higher price, and many consumers are not ready to pay more at this point. Today you’ll find it in a distinctive green bottle. The beer itself is a pale lager in style, mild and easily drinkable. It’s no secret that Poles (just like our German and Czech neighbours) love beer. Some 39% of those who drink alcohol name beer as their preferred beverage, while only 25% opt for wine (according to a CBOS 2019 poll ).

For almost 60 years since its inception, Zywiec was well known as a local Polish pale lager, this all changed in 1913. At this time, the brewery launched its export campaign during an era where 78.7% of overall output accounted for was local. Following the events of World War 1, Poland saw the revival of the independent state and was thus reintroduced onto the map of Europe. The country of Poland as well as the Zywiec brand thrived for a little more than 20 years until the tragedy of World War 2 began. After surviving both world wars under Habsburg Imperial Family, the brand was confiscated by the Polish People’s Republic also known as, the post World War 2 Communist government of Poland. The most important milestone that Zywiec achieved was when Heineken acquired the Zywiec brewery in the mid-1990s. This allowed the brand to produce more beer and reach more distributors. All three of these milestones are very key in showing how strong and reputable the brand is to have survived not one but two World Wars as well as being a profitable brewery through the changing of ownership Photo Source: https://www.spangshus.dk/poland/schlesienamt/zywiec This might be due to local popularity. Or because it was brewed in Poland between Tychy (a Polish city) from 2002 to 2011. From 2004 to 2017, it was brewed in Kaluga, Russia. It has an ABV of 4.4% and was first brewed in 1842, making it the first pale lager in the world. (Urquell is German for ‘original’.) The beer has Noble and Saaz hops and is brewed with soft water. The most distinct scents in this European lager are corn and malts. Although these scents are pretty subdued, you can still tell they’re present. A very mild floral or citrus scent also faintly reminds one of apples. You can also detect a bread-like yeasty scent and a subtle hop note. Polish beers have a rich history dating to even before the 19 th century. During that time, the primary brewing process was a top-fermenting process which they used to make craft beer, unlike bottom fermentation that is widely being used now. This is why the old good Polish beers are porters and wheat beers. This is most likely because the beers in this country are porters, pilsners and pale ales, all made in the European style. If you want to taste some of the most authentic beers in Poland, you should visit Krakow.means bison, and this is certainly a buffalo of a beer. It’s brewed by Kompania Piwowarska under the stewardship of Japan’s Asahi Brewing. Don’t mix it up with the Czech Zubr – same name, different beer. You could call it ‘Zubr-with-a-dot’ to avoid confusion.
