About this deal

In the sources tab, SeeMo will appear underneath your built-in sources. Just select SeeMo to add it as a source. This makes SeeMo Pro SDI perfect for critical monitoring applications and especially focus pulling. SeeMo Pro SDI features a tough lightweight aluminum body with multiple 1/4-20 anti-rotation mounting points for flexibility. Once you’re connected, you can easily manage your production on your main Switcher device — adding graphics, b-roll, and more — while still capturing super high-quality video with your DSLR or mirrorless camera. You can even switch between your main Switcher’s camera and the SeeMo source on the fly, or use them both in multiviews. With a long enough HDMI cable, you could capture two angles at once, making multicamera video even easier. Accsoon have optimised the SeeMo and SEE app to be incredibly low latency too, again rivalling traditional SDI monitors in tests.

Switcher Studio is already established as the premier iOS-based live multi-camera switching solution, able to use multiple iPhones and iPads as sources and seamlessly switch between them. Now connecting a HDMI camera or source to Switcher Studio couldn’t be simpler – just attach an Accsoon SeeMo to an iPhone-running Switcher Studio and you are good to go. Up to nine iOS devices can be connected and edited live.SeeMo Pro SDI is incredibly power efficient and runs off Sony NP-F style batteries or via a pro-grade 2-pin DC connector. It can supply 5V/2.4A power to a connected iPad or iPhone for extended operation times. It can also charge other devices over USB-C operating as a power bank. The Accsoon SeeMo has the ability to live stream. This is pretty straightforward and easy to do and you can stream to a wide array of different platforms. For anyone working in news or events, this is a handy feature to have, especially in emergency situations. Real World Use

SeeMo Pro SDI will also turn an iPhone into a professional SDI/HDMI EVF with the upcoming Zacuto Z-finder iOS electronic viewfinder solution. Announced earlier this week, it has been developed in collaboration with Accsoon and uses a customised version of the SEE app. The incredible colour accuracy and resolution of the latest iPhones makes them a perfect alternative to a traditional EVF and with the added ability to record and live stream in HD. It can also be used in landscape or portrait mode for vertical video shooting. Flexible powering Some of the newer iPhones have very bright screens that you can easily see in sunny conditions. Almost everybody already owns a phone, so being able to use it as a monitor also makes sense. If you have an older iPhone you can turn it into a monitor instead of throwing it out, so that you aren’t tying up your primary phone.

Price & Availability

What is nice is that you can adjust the color and intensity of peaking, the position and opacity of the waveform, etc. Switcher Studio users can gain this functionality with a free update (v9.0.0) available on the app store immediately. The SeeMo advantage

As I previously mentioned I would have preferred to have seen some sort of internal battery and the ability to power it through USB-C. You no longer need capture cards, hardware switchers, Live-U’s, or complex setups to livestream super high-quality video — you just need Accsoon SeeMo, an iOS device, and the Switcher Studio app. Need a larger monitor? Connect a recent iPad or iPad Pro to the SeeMo using Accsoon PowerCage and you have built a pro-grade director’s monitor with all the same great app tools. The HD SDI input can also be looped out to allow connection to other downstream devices such as Accsoon’s own CineView SE and Quad SDI wireless transmitters.Flip your iPhone around and it's the perfect way to keep yourself perfectly framed while vlogging. Want to fine tune your composition? Simply pull up a grid overlay to help line things up and keep horizons level.

I would have preferred to have seen an in-built battery and/or a USB-C power input added as well. With a small-sized, lightweight adapter it doesn’t make a ton of sense for users to have to power it via a battery that weighs substantially more than the device itself. Accsoon is a leading iOS and wireless video company. It was the originator of wi-fi based professional video monitoring systems and the first to develop a low cost MFi-certified HDMI interface for iOS. The Accsoon SeeMo linerepresents the connectivity center of an emerging ecosystem of iOS apps to enable video creators to work smarter. Harnessing the power of the latest iPhones and iPads with traditional cameras and devices opens the door to new ways of working with greater accuracy and speed. While the Accsoon SeeMo, a Sony 37Wh NP-F battery, and an iPhone 12 Pro tip the scales at around 500g / 17.64oz that is still going to be slightly lighter than even the cheapest 5″ monitor with the same battery.

Conclusion

An in-built battery also has its caveats, but I think a product like this should have one. Having the ability to power it via a battery or through an internal battery or external USB-C source would make it a lot more versatile, at least in my opinion. The HDMI grabbers implement a standard USB device class (UVC) that is also used by webcams. Apple does not include support for this standard device class and that is the only problem. Since a short while, Apple at least allow embedding certain USB device driver functionality in apps, so what has happened here is most probably a simple device containing aforementioned USB HDMI grabber hardware with a unique vendor/device id and an app that uses this unique id to communicate with the device.
