[/spoiler] Die Story an sich ist relativ geradlinig und hat kaum überraschende Twists. Auch die ein oder andere Tatsache, die durchaus als Überraschung gedacht war, ist für Filmfreunde zu offensichtlich und hat eher ein „Hah, wusste ich es doch!“ als eine Überraschung zur Folge. Ant-Man kommt wie die Avengersgeschichten aus dem Marvel-Universum und vielleicht kann man ihn ja als 12. Avengers-Film in diese Filmreihe einreihen. Denn Anleihen und Verbindungen zu den Avengers und Shield gibt es ja genug. Daher aufgepasst, in den Postcredit-Szenen kommt Falcon und Steve Rogers (Captain America) vor, die nach einem Technikexperten suchen. So könnte nun auch Ant-Man in die Reihen der Avengers stoßen. Die einzige ungereimte Szene die der Film enthält, ist, wo Pym erklärt das der Einsatz des Anzuges Spuren hinterlässt aber nicht erklärt welche. Gemeint ist wohl die mentale Instabilität die Pym in den Comics aufzeigte und wo er sogar seine Frau erschlug. Im Film wurde Janets Tod jedoch anders erklärt.

It could've been a little bit more funny at times. Originally Edgar Wright was going to direct but he left apparently because Marvel got in the way too much, which was a shame cause if he had directed this film, it would've been a lot more funny. But the final product we got was not that bad though.Overall, I think the movie hit its mark pretty well: It was very entertaining, funny when it needed to be, as believable as a movie about a shrinking man could possibly be, and all of the characters were well played by the respective actors. Natürlich kommt auch Ant-Man nicht ohne kleine Liebelei aus, die aber im Vergleich zu den anderen Filmen des MCU wenig plausibel herumkommt, dadurch aber wenig aufdringlich wirkt.

The first thing that caught my attention with Ant-Man were the impressive visual effects. The shrinking abilities of Ant-Man are well portrayed, allowing the audience to suspend disbelief long enough to become invested in Scott’s story. Aspects such as the digitally recreated bathroom where Scott first utilizes his shrinking powers are overflowing with detail, right down to the texture on the tiles, the grimy grout, and spiderwebs between the floorboards. It really helps sell the illusion, as you never feel as though Rudd is running in front of a green screen (although that’s obviously what happened).
