DJI Goggles Integra and DJI Goggles 2 are similar in size, video transmission performance, and screen display. To control the limited interface, the Goggles 2 has a touchpad on the right-hand side that can be used to make adjustments to the controls, capture quality and other settings. One issue that the DJI FPV suffered from was that, in certain maneuvers, it was possible to see the blade tips in your videos. On the Avata, this is still an issue, but only when the wide-angle modes are being used and the camera is pointing downwards. DJI Avata is the first FPV drone with built-in propeller guards, enabling it to withstand minor collisions for a worry-free flight: Perfect for high-octane deployments - indoors or outdoors - to capture dazzling cinewhoop-style content.
DJI Care Refresh, the comprehensive protection plan for DJI products, is now available for DJI Avata. Accidental damage is covered by the replacement service, including flyaway, collisions, and water damage. For a small additional charge, you can have your damaged product replaced if an accident occurs. That’s a big difference if you are interested in flying fast, though not necessarily a bad thing if you’re learning FPV flying.It's worth noting that FAA regulations aren't really suited for Cinewhoop and racing-style drones; they're more about enforcing rules in shared airspace with manned aircraft and avoiding flights over crowded public spaces. When you fly a cinema drone at altitude, the biggest worry is a crash to the ground that injures a person or animal. Camera-first drones are also very capable of flying low, but they don't do so with the same ferocious velocity as the Avata. It's up to you to use common sense when you operate the drone near the ground, because you can still do some real harm even if you technically follow the FAA regulations to a tee. Compatible with DJI FPV Remote Controller 2, which is sold separately, and the DJI Motion Controller. DJI RC Motion 2 currently does not support the DJI Virtual Flight app.
What’s slightly odd about the Goggles 2 is that, in most regards, they are superior to the Goggles V2, but not in every respect. If we compare these numbers to the DJI Mavic 3, the Avata is a little faster, but not by a dramatic amount. The takeaway from these numbers is that the Avata is built more for fun and cinematography, rather than chasing racing cars or birds of prey. To fly safely in this manner, you really need a space that's free and clear of other humans. If you fly the Avata into a tree, the worst you have to deal with is a broken drone. In its zippy 31mph Sports flight mode, the drone could do some real damage if you hit a person, however. I also expect shattered glass or a broken windshield if you run into a building or car. Needless to say, you shouldn't bring this drone to a public park. Tested in an outdoor open environment without interference. The video transmission bitrate varies with operating environments.DJI Avata only supports downward obstacle sensing when used with DJI FPV Remote Controller 2, or DJI RC Motion 2/DJI Motion Controller in N Mode and S Mode. We feel compelled to note that confidence can lead to crashes; it did for us! Structurally that didn’t seem to be a problem, and we won’t question individual responsibility, but it is worth remembering the weight means this shouldn’t be flow too near others. FPV video can (and does) drop out occasionally.
Of course, it’s these strange controls that allow for the acrobatic flight FPV drones are renowned for. Sound complicated? It is, and I can say from experience that you really do have to put the flying hours in with simulators and basic beginner FPV models before even thinking about flying a drone like the Avata in Acro mode. Flying startDJI Goggles 2 does not support astigmatism correction. If you have specific vision requirements, please consult your doctor before use.
