Condensation: Now this is the bit just to confuse you. It appears in both the pros and the cons. So far, I’ve only had one night where the condensation was worthy of note. It was at Deep Pass, in the Blue Mountains, which is roughly a 500 square metre bowl of an area, with a creek running through it, with dry canyons nearby. The temps dropped to 0c and the area around the top of my sleeping bag (where my breath was warmer than the air) and surrounding area of the bivvy was wet, quite wet… I’ve been using the bag so far throughout May, June and July in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, with overnight temps ranging from 0-7c, however the air is generally quite dry. It will be interesting to see how it performs in more humid conditions. Pigs have pork – fat, dirty and the unhealthiest of all meats. When the plot of the piglets is referenced, this makes sense. I'm feeling more than a bit down today... She's been having trouble with her teeth for weeks but this week takes the biccy peg!! She has pretty much screamed everyday from the moment she wakes up, up until bathtime and bed.
Anyway, we started on lunches all veg at the time. He loved it and was doing so well. Anyway about 5 days in he stopped poo-ing and for 3 days in a row he took 6oz!! Then on the 4th day he did the hardest poo I've ever seen him do after that he's been ok-ish. In and Out : It takes a bit of practice, but to begin with you’ll be thankful if you’ve mastered the Downward Dog or Cobra when first getting into and out of your bag… either that or you’ll find a whole lot of shimmy-ing going on. I started to wean my little boy who is now 22 weeks 2 weeks ago. He is on the 2nd percentile and has a milk protein allergy and I had a meeting with the dietician who said go for it!

He doesn't want a first bottle until 8am so I can give him a little breakfast at 9, but if I do that he then goes 5 hours without a fed. Which means his next bottle is 1, so I can give lunch then and then continue with his feeds after that. But his bedtime is 7, so he only has 4 bottles a day now. Another thing I'm feeling sorry for myself is that I seem to have no friends left?! I used to think I was popular but since having Elsie... I don't see anyone! I think with being pregnant and then breastfeeding, not being able to go out with them without the baby, has just made me be forgotten... As for the risk of breaking- If you're cutting grapes in half (which we all should do)...you don't want them risking an Amber bead (same size as a grape) in their wind pipe. By the time Elsie is bathed and sees daddy ready for me to put her down, I end up not eating tea til like 9pm. I then have to clear it all up, grab a shower, and get to bed myself so I'm not too tired to take the 14mile round trip to get Elliot to school through rush hour traffic and a deadly bit of motorway! It’s so easy to the point where they are basically nursery rhymers, and she’d rather dismiss them as “pork” instead.
About Me
I can't even leave the baby with someone so I can have an afternoon to catch up on the housework or the laundry becoz they can't feed her, and she feeds on demand so I can't even guarantee a window of time. Otherwise, it’s been great whereby after a few minutes of emerging from my bag, I’ve been able to roll up a 99% dry bag, which is better performance than my tent.

Tent bound : So maybe the weather was fine (as was the forecast) when you set out, but imagine being tent bound, in horrendous weather… in only a bivvie. Hmmm. Not my idea of a great few days out. It would make cooking, reading, stretching and generally all that we tent-ers do to make being tent-bound living bearable… unbearable.
They think the Amber is magical and cures all, when infact it's just the fact it's something solid they are biting down on to releave the pressure on their gums. They could chew on steel/marble/anything hard and it would have the same effect. Elsie is 16 wks old today. She's been an exclusively breastfed bottle refuser, until the last 2 wks when I've managed to persuade n her to take a bottle - but she'll only take it from me so I'm still actually no better off... The thing is with the animals, especially the alpaca they do not like being handled, and then sit on their feet! For this job I always wear a hoody, as alpaca spit is most unpleasant! The goats are both boys so they can be a bit pongy; but they are very lovely! Biccy peg actually sat on Mr Crows knee! I do love the bond I have with her... I always thought me and my son were close but from feeding her myself, I feel totally consumed by her! But at the same time, I've made it really difficult for myself. My MIL had her for an hr Monday for me to go to Weight watchers. She screamed the whole time. They don't warn u about this when they encourage u to breastfeed! Lol. I’m being selfish and starting to think that it is actually worse for me. I work from home on a Monday. 7 out of 8 Monday’s so far have been absolutely fine with her happily playing and sleeping. Today is a different story altogether!
