About this deal

Generally, most of these eggs are found in the seasonal aisle of supermarkets, but you will often find the gluten-free and dairy-free eggs down the free from aisle. If you're not avoiding dairy, many 'normal' Easter eggs are free from gluten-containing ingredients anyway. All of the Easter Eggs in this section of guide, at the time of writing, are gluten free, dairy free and safe for people with coeliac disease. I was pleasantly surprised with the gluten free easter egg options in Lidl. They actually had quite a lot in comparison to Aldi. Important note: In 2022 the Mini Eggs Bar was gluten free, but now (2023) it has a 'may contain' warning and is NOT suitable for people with coeliac disease)

I've broken this blog post into two sections for ease: Gluten Free Easter Eggsand Gluten and Dairy Free Easter Eggs. Ahead of Easter Sunday (April 9, 2023) I've got a long list of gluten free, coeliac-safe Easter eggs in UK supermarkets right now. Or drop me a comment at the bottom of this blog post and I can add them to this list! Aldi's free from Easter eggs Gluten Free Easter Eggs This list is by no means exhaustive but contains most of the major supermarket and named brands I could find on the shelves. Morrisons had a good selection of branded Easter eggs but disappointingly most of their own brand Easter eggs this year are may contain or contain gluten.Easter Eggs and chocolates that are dairy free I have labelled DAIRY FREE at the beginning of their caption. I will also place these all into a separate post to make it more clear too.

In Waitrose, you’ll find a few exclusive own-brand eggs that more than make it worth the trip over, but watch out as there are lots of own brand ones that do contain gluten or have may contains too. There’s a Cadbury’s Caramel Egg in this post that’s gluten-free. BUT other Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Caramel eggs (which come with a bar and have the extra text ‘Dairy Milk’ on the front) are NOT gluten-free.There are Aero Peppermint Eggs in this post that are gluten-free. But there are other Aero Easter egg variations which are NOT gluten-free. All of the Easter Eggs in this section of guide, at the time of writing, are gluten free and safe for people with coeliac disease. There’s a small Milkybar Easter egg in this post that’s gluten-free. However, many other Milkybar eggs in other sizes are often NOT gluten-free. I've swept the supermarket shelves of Asda, Co-Op, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose to find all the Easter eggs which are gluten free.

Have you found any other gluten free Easter eggs or noticed any changes to this list since it was published? Also, Easter eggs sometimes feature other bits and bobs such as biscuit or wafer pieces which will contain gluten. You may find one size Easter egg from a brand is gluten free, while a different size has a 'may contain' warning. As I mentioned, most of these are down the seasonal Easter aisle so it can be a literal Easter egg hunt to find the right ones. So make sure you allow yourself enough time to make sure you’ve got the ones pictured which are safe for us to eat. You can never assume anything is safe but this Easter egg guide should help you navigate the best choices for gluten free. How to use my gluten free Easter eggs guide

As always Asda has a good selection of Easter options this year. They have lots of variety in terms of branded Easter Eggs and equally their free from range is definitely one of the better ones. Ocado always has a good selection of Easter eggs, many of which are gluten free. They also have a good selection of dairy free including some more luxurious eggs from the like of Booja booja that you would not find in supermarkets. I’m very specific in this post when I reference which eggs are gluten-free and safe to eat. So please don’t assume that, just because you’ve seen one egg from a particular brand in this post, that every egg by the same brand is also gluten-free. Recipes can change and vary at the drop of a hat so you should always be on the safe side when trying to find ones that are gluten free.

Most plain chocolate eggs are free from gluten but sadly some have 'may contain' warnings which mean they are not coeliac-safe.
