About this deal

Veteran Squad • Terminator Squad • Destroyer Squad • Moritat • Champion Consul • Honour Guard • Nullificator As is tradition, I neglected to take photos during the most crucial part of the process: Painting the terrain! But bear with me, I’ll walk you through it: Most P3 Paints do not match closely with the old GW range, but a detailed explanation of each paint can be found here: http://www.brushthralls.com/pre-painting-prep/color-theory-10p3.html

IX- Angel's Tears • Burning Eyes • High Host • Contemptor-Incaendius • Crimson Paladins • Dawnbreaker • Sanguinary Guard • Hey guys Cavalier here, co-host of Splintermind the Dark Eldar podcast and commission painter for Frontline Gaming. Sharing my technique for painting Daughters of Khaine! I painted the whole cape Gal Vorbak Red, with two thin coats. I then layered up with Khorne Red, a blend of Khorne Red and Mephiston Red, Mephiston Red, and then a last highlight of a blend of Mephiston Red and Averland Sunset. And finally I’ve hit the entire thing with Talent in a bottle Agrax Earthshade to make it look even dirtier and worn. Bish Bosh Bash, done son.He does not stand out from the crowd, but if you build a list with his special ability in mind (e.g. massed Assault marines or Tactical Marines with extra CCW), you could really do some work. The Emperor could not allow this to continue, and took His son Guilliman to chastise Lorgar for these foolish beliefs. In the Censure, Monarchia was levelled by the XIII Legion, and the populace reduced to ash. Lorgar and his Legion were forced to kneel before Guilliman and the Emperor, and accept that their belief was wrong, and the Emperor was no god. The end result is one I’m pretty happy with – it’s colorful and detailed without looking too uniform, and the whole thing took an hour or so, not counting time for things like waiting for the Agrax to dry. This is easy enough to replicate that I’ll do the rest of it this way, though I’ll probably vary up the colors on the signs and panels, since the red/yellow/blue aspect is the one thing I’m not super happy with. Time to grunge this thing up. I need it to look gross, so I slather the thing in Agrax Earthshade, making sure to hit the copper parts harder. I need the whole thing to look absolutely filthy. The new Kill Team boxed set introduces us to the Octarius Killzone and the Ork settlements that spot its landscape, along with all new Ork terrain. These large heaps of scrap can be daunting to paint so if you’re looking at yours and wondering how you can create something that’s both visually interesting but easy to paint, we’ve got you covered. In this guide we’re talking about building and painting the new terrain, and techniques for painting Ork Terrain that will produce great results. Robert “TheChirurgeon” Jones’ Method

Dry brushing again with a brighter metallic, Runefang Steel in my case, focusing on hitting the edges of everything.

Here are five paints from Citadel Colours that can be used to complement Gal Vorbak Red and create a wide range of effects:

A fast-strike specialist who oversaw the Battle of Calth, Hol Beloth is a Praetor level character who can ignore the first failed save of any game (really good!), and can increase all Word Bearers Legionaries to WS5 (if they aren’t already that or better) for one turn once per game. This can lead to some devastating charges, particularly as he causes Fear if he is the Warlord. Emma: For the Tyranids, there are lots of variations of fleshy parts for their symbiotic weapons. The Barbgaunts ’ bio-cannons get a Khorne Red basecoat and a highlight of Tuskgor Fur , and I used Gal Vorbak Red for the mouth and talons of the Psychophage . For the luminous brain matter of the Neurotyrant and Neuroloids, I applied some thinned Frostheart for a creepy blue glow. The eyes of Horus were painted with a thin glaze of Khorne Red, a second thin glaze on the top 85% of the eye with Khorne Red, and then progressively brighter red-to-yellow getting higher on the eye. Emma: I’ll start off by batch painting Termagants because there are a lot of these in the box, and once you know how to paint these little biomass-devouring creatures, you’ll know how to paint the rest of your Tyranids, as they all feature the same constituent parts. Techmarine ( Mortificator • Forge Lord) • Apothecary ( Primus Medicae) • Chaplain • Librarian ( Esoterist) • Master of Signals • Consul ( Praevian • Delegatus • Warmonger • Armistos • Opsequiari • Nullificator) • Vigilator • Siege Breaker • PathfinderIt’s worth noting how, just like Rob, I’ve tended to avoid the edges of the panels I’ve painted in red and white. This helps convey the notion that this was some battered piece of metal stolen from something else, and has the added advantage of you not having to do an extra stage. The take home lesson for me with ork scenery is that it’s an opportunity for you to be loose, sloppy, inconsistent, experimental, and to generally just have fun with it. NOTE: When basing the corner buildings, I kept the outline of the bases small so that they could still be placed together into a larger building: GW's new range matches with the old range are the matches claimed by GW. However, many of the paints do not match very closely at all and some mixing will be required to get close to the original colours. If you are trying to match old GW with new GW, you'd be better just getting Vallejo game color or coat d'arms for the closest match )
