About this deal

Battery life: The Garmin Venu Sq is advertised to last six days on a single charge in smartwatch mode and 14 hours with the GPS running. That’s a decent increase over the Garmin Venu’s five days in smartwatch mode. Lightweight and remarkably comfortable. Not only does the Milanese Loop Strap feel soft and smooth against the skin, thanks to its unique mesh-like construction, it allows air to pass easily through its design. It will keep you cool on the warmest of days and helps to avoid under-band sweating, a common issue with both leather and solid stainless steel watch straps. This balances out exercise and stress against quality and duration of sleep/rest, to judge whether or not you may be run down. Before, during and after exercise, the Garmin Venu Sq 2 offers some stats to shed some light on what you do. And that is arguably all you need. Heart rate monitoring was okay, but the device did have a tendency to post maximum heart rate readings that were 10bpm higher than those captured by Garmin’s HRM-Pro Plus chest strap monitor. As such, you could pair up an external sensor for better HR accuracy during exercise. Away from the displays, you'll get two physical buttons on the Venu Sq and at first glance, no buttons on the Sense. What you get instead is a button built into the case that we can't say we love and definitely prefer having the buttons on the Venu.

You can view notifications, but you’ll need to head into the Glances screen to pull them up. You can also respond to some notifications; you can reply to messages with short preset responses, for example. Missing sensors: The Garmin Venu Sq does not have an altimeter for measuring elevation or a gyroscope for angular velocity. Constructed from premium grade 316 stainless steel (rather than a cheaper alternative, such as grade 304), the Milanese Loop is durable and built to last. It is easy to keep clean and resistant to solutions of sulphuric acid, chlorides, bromides, iodides and fatty acids. There are a number of different setups that Garmin uses with its watches and bands. Here's the breakdown: What we found in our testing is that those numbers to ring true. If you can live without having the screen set to always-on, you'll get around a week's worth of battery life.During runs, the watch will automatically buzz when reaching every kilometre, to show you the pace over the last 1,000m. Each run summary screen displays a VO2 Max score, which is one way to quantify progress over the long term. And if you want an indicator as to whether you’re ready for a big workout or not, you can use the Body Battery mode. The Venu is Garmin's smartwatch that's designed to straddle sporty and stylish looks and this band definitely veers towards the former. The 18mm option comes in 10 different colors and is available in large and small sizes. If you don't have a Venu, it'll also work with the Vivomove Luxe and Style, Forerunner 645, 245 and Vivomove 3. High-quality, durable, and affordable Garmin Venu SQ straps

The Sense in comparison features a 1.58-inch, 336 x 336 AMOLED display. So you're getting more screen and in our experience a better quality display overall on the Sense. It's a little sharper, brighter and nicer to view. The Sq's display certainly isn't bad, but the Sense feels like a big step up. The experience of interacting with that screen is good on the whole, although there’s definitely a slight lag when scrolling through Garmin’s Glances (widgets) screen. Typically, Garmin doesn’t reveal much info on the processing power of its watches, but my experience is that the Venu Sq isn’t quite as buttery smooth in operation as the pricier Venu watches. When it's time to hit the hay with the Sense it will go to work monitoring your sleep stages including REM sleep giving you a sleep score to help you get a sense of the quality of sleep. The Sense feels like one more for casual workout fans, while you're going to more in the way accuracy, data and insights on the Venu Sq.

At Ozstraps, we believe that high quality shouldn't come with a hefty price tag. From robust stainless-steel links that offer timeless elegance to resilient silicone bands that provide flexibility and comfort, each strap is designed to deliver long-lasting performance. Our commitment to affordability means that you don't have to compromise on quality when choosing a Garmin Venu SQ strap. Experience the perfect combination of style, durability, and affordability with our premium selection. Personalise your Garmin with our Garmin Venu SQ bandsThe stress score works similarly to the Garmin Venu Sq, offering a single number. You can also log stressful feelings manually to color these automated responses, and help Fitbit understand your body. A running favorite, the 235 uses the screw-in watch bands, which means getting a screwdriver to remove the screws in the bands to remove the bar and fit in a new band.

In terms of how you operate this watches, there's touchscreens on both. The Sq uses a 1.3-inch, 240 x 240 liquid color display. There's no separating the two on water resistance, with both suitable for being dipped in water up to 50 metres depth. Fitbit has a stronger and wider collection of official bands that work with the Sense with plenty of third party options available. With the Venu Sq, you just have the optical heart monitor, but you do have the ability to pair up an external heart rate sensor to improve accuracy during exercise. This is a great style for day-to-day wear. Taking you effortlessly from meetings in the office to evening drinks with friends, the Milanese Loop Strap will compliment just about any outfit – including both smart-casual and formal attire – and is suitable for a wide range of occasions. The original Venu Sq was capable of going for up to six days in Smartwatch mode. It also offered up to 14 hours of GPS battery life. The Venu Sq 2 promises significant improvements on both those fronts – and it really does deliver a much better overall battery performance. Garmin does offer up its Assistance and Incident Detection safety features, but this requires you to have your phone nearby and paired with the watch for use. The Venu Sq 2’s screen also looks more sophisticated because it’s higher-resolution (360 x 320), larger (1.41in) and has nicely curved corners where the Venu Sq’s are severe and squared off. Next to this new model, the old version looks a bit naff, even if their casings are very similar. Turning on the Pulse Ox sensor that enables measurements of blood oxygen levels does have a significant impact on battery life.
