From the first chapter we get the words psychopath and sociopath thrown around and you know the characters are going to be either extra self-aware or just... caricatures of what a psychopath is supposed to be. Secondary characters and their interactions were mostly funny and entertaining ( nothing to obsess over in my humble opinion though), but maybe RK should focus more on her main characters so that others don't steal their show? Like it happens in every damn book of hers. Or is that her marketing strategy aimed at luring people in reading her larger-than-life series, sequels, prequels and what not? 😂 Good soup.
Also, what do you mean every detail has a meaning??!? Why there’s a bullet chain and the lotus flower is melting?!? Don’t play with me Killian who is a natural born psychopath who becomes obsessed over Glyndon who is “normal” but turns out she is obsessed with being treated like a hussy behind closed doors and I am LIVINGGGG for it! Oh the main couple. Right. Our psycho manipulative rapist and our virgin artist. - it was okay. I mean, I feel like they had more scenes apart than together but I liked their banter and Killian did make me smile from time to time. And I was happy by the time I finished the book so I must’ve liked it. Not Cole and Silver fans come here and rating this book with 1 star mounths before its release just because Ariella its not Killian love interest 🤡🤡 honestly this childish and toxic attitude on the part of Cole and Silver fans towards the Kings does not surprise me at all since they have always hated the Kings for no reason. SilverCole stan was always thie toxic and problematic part of this fandon.From the chemistry 🔥 to the darkness, Our anti-hero and our heroine had me feeling every single thing under the sun! I swear, the roller coaster ride of emotions i went through while listening had me falling for this story even more! I was so glad that i got to dig into both of their minds. IT'S NIGHTMARE-INDUCING. i hope in god of pain remi loses consciousness or better yet has to have jaw surgery so he can't speak for the duration of that book. edit 6: A few new facts about this book from Rina’s Q&A (don’t mind me I’m just obsessed and I need to share my thoughts about it somewhere) I’m absolutely curious as to who will be paired up with who in future books, I’m really really anticipating all their books. While the 4 stars are mainly for MY disgusting obsession with Killian and his psychopathic tendencies (I may have been generous because I'm clearly not thinking with my head) it did lose out on that final star for a few things. I guess one of them being plot. I do wish there was more to this book than just the relationship between the two main characters. Kent tried for a sub plot of a murder mystery type storyline but it fizzled out and I found that any decent plot line that could've worked was overshadowed by trying to introduce us to - what felt like - almost EVERY other character you'll EVER find in this series. There was a lot of world building and I understand that is going to happen when it's the first book in a series but to the possible detriment to the storyline in this particular book? I'm not sure it was worth it. This is probably why I can't get any of her ARC's 🤣🤣 #youwinsomeyoulosesome 🤷♀️
