Color-wise, the iPad Pro’s display covered 117.1% of the sRGB color gamut and 82.4% of the more demanding DCI-P3 color space. These averages are just a nudge above the iPad Pro 2021’s 114.9% and 81.4%, respectively. The Galaxy Tab S8’s averages (101.6% and 71.6%, respectively) fall behind as well. Design-wise, the iPad Pro 2022 is indistinguishable from the iPad Pro 2021 and iPad Pro 2020. This isn’t a negative since its thin bezels and sleek machined aluminum chassis remain as striking as ever. Testing conducted by Apple in September 2022 using pre‑production iPad Pro 12.9‑inch (6th generation) and iPad Pro 12.9‑inch (5th generation) units with pre‑release software. LumaFusion v3.1.2.1780 tested using a 55-second clip with 4K Apple ProRes RAW media, at 4096x2160 resolution and 59.94 frames per second, transcoded to Apple ProRes 422. When measured diagonally as a rectangle, the iPad Pro 12.9-inch screen is 32.77 centimetres (12.9 inches), the iPad Pro 11-inch screen is 27.96 centimetres (11 inches), the iPad Air (5th generation) and iPad (10th generation) screens are 27.58 centimetres (10.86 inches), and the iPad mini (6th generation) screen is 21.08 centimetres (8.3 inches). The displays have rounded corners. When measured diagonally as a rectangle, the iPadPro 12.9-inch screen is 12.9inches, the iPadPro 11-inch screen is 11inches, the iPadAir and iPad (10th generation) screens are 10.86inches, and the iPadmini screen is 8.3inches. In the Delta-E test, where lower numbers point to more accurate displays, the iPad Pro 2022 scored 0.3, which is less accurate than the iPad 2022’s 0.21 result. iPad Pro 2022 review: Audio The other big feature on iPad Pro 2022 is Apple Pencil Hover preview, which is exclusive to this M2-powered slate. The iPad Pro can detect the Apple Pencil up to 12mm above the display and lets you see a preview of your mark before you make it. On the Tom’s Guide battery test, which involves continuous web surfing at 150 nits of screen brightness, the iPad Pro 2022 lasted for 10 hours and 39 minutes over Wi-Fi. This is a hair lower than the 10 hours and 57 minutes of the new regular iPad but more than the iPad Air 2021’s 10 hours and 9 minutes.
