About this deal

Hidetsugu was chosen as an appealing card both mechanically and flavorfully for the neon ink treatment," said Daniel. "It's been 1,200 years since the original Kamigawa setting, but Hidetsugu is one of the few characters to play a role in both timelines." Starting with Zendikar Rising, the mythic rares are changing their rate of drop. In the past, 1 in every 8 rares was a mythic rare. Starting with Zendikar Rising, that will be changing so that 1 in every 7.4 rares will be a mythic rare. This will also be true of Draft Boosters. Neon ink yellow Hidetsugu is a promotional card distributed by WPN Premium Stores. It also appears only in English.

There are seven commons, eight uncommons, six rares, and two mythic rares with the Ninja treatment. Ninjas are sneaky, but each can be found in Set, Draft, and Collector Boosters, in both non-foil as well as traditional foil. Samurai Treatment Both Ninjas and Samurai creatures were iconic from our first trip to Kamigawa. Now both get unique treatments in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. The first thing you need to know is that we’re getting a new face: Kamigawa-native and cyber ninja Kaito Shizuki. The Wanderer is also returning, and she's making quite the splash. It looks like we're getting some more details on her origins and who she is, as it's been revealed that she's the current emperor of Kamigawa as evidenced by The Wandering Emperor. Seems fitting if you ask me. You can find all the soft glow cards, including the Sagas, in Set, Draft, and Collector Boosters, in both non-foil as well as traditional foil. Ninja Treatment

On top of ninjas, we're also being treated to 21 samurai creatures (plus the Wandering planeswalker) in Kamigawa, each of which will have a Samurai alternate up for grabs! These feature Japanese-style alternate art and a sharp frame similar to the Ninja treatment. Ninja Frame

This was the big question we had to solve. This isn't to say, by the way, that opening boosters currently isn't fun. They are. They're just not optimized to be as fun as possible to open. The Samurai treatment has softer, more rounded and natural elements to it in the knotted ropes and padded armor," said Daniel. "In contrast, the Ninja treatment was built with hard, sharp edges with a colder technological concept. Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty plays with the tradition-versus-modernity theme, and we can see hints of that reflected across these Booster Fun treatments." Wizards has teamed up with Beadle & Grimm’s, a company known for some pretty grand Dungeons & Dragons accessories, to bring a new bundle to the table for Kamigawa. This is for players that just really want some swag since it doesn’t come with any actual Kamigawa boosters or cards. Instead you’ll get a sweet collection of Kamigawa-themed swag and accessories. Today, I'm going to talk about something we're premiering in Zendikar Rising—a brand-new type of booster. If the title didn't already give it away, it's called a Set Booster, and in today's column, I'm going to talk all about it. Channel is an ability that was first introduced in Saviors of Kamigawa. It allows you to pay a mana cost and discard the card for a pretty powerful effect. Well, sometimes. Boseiju, Who Endures features this keyword with a penchant for destruction and a clear synergy with legendary creatures. CompleatedThe treatments were purposely designed to look great next to each other," said Tom Jenkot. "We wanted to separate the Samurai, Ninjas, and others in a way that gives them their moment to shine—or glow as it is with neon." Phyrexian Treatments We begin with the Welcome section, which has eight slots. Its purpose is to welcome you to the booster. Collector Boosters are certainly the most exciting MTG boosters, and that’s true for Kamigawa as well. This booster box contains 12 boosters, and each one of them has 15 cards. All of them will either be in foil, or they will have the alternate art. The Wanderer is able to save them, and the three band together to save Kamigawa and stop the evil on their doorstep. But the story doesn't end there. The Wanderer disappeared as her spark took hold of her, and Tezzeret took Jin-Gitaxias through a portal after Tamiyo. Nothing says "the future" like neon, and neon glows brightly in the cities of Kamigawa. This is reflected in the soft glow treatment with its neon frame.

Each set usually comes with five different theme boosters, either by color or color combo if there’s a clear theme for them. Both Crimson Vow and Midnight Hunt broke that mold a little bit by releasing five mono-colored boosters and a 5-colored booster of the set’s main tribe ( vampires and werewolves respectively), and Kamigawa is following in their footsteps with a 5-colored ninja theme booster. Set Boosters are an exciting way to add to your collection. You're much more likely to open multiple rares in Set Boosters than in Draft Boosters. Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Set Boosters always contain a card with the Ninja or Samurai treatment, a traditional foil card, and an art card. Between foils and non-foils, 45% of Set Boosters contain at least one of the ukiyo-e lands. The commons and uncommons in Set Boosters tell little stories about Kamigawa, and there's always the chance of opening a card on The List. It's a beautiful day in Kamigawa as you ride your neon-wheeled motorcycle through the city center. Even in the daylight, the many neon signs glow bright with a magical aura, and you see a being made entirely of noodles walk into a coffee shop. You smile and brake for a group of Jukai historians crossing the street before maneuvering your bike into a park bursting with Japanese maple trees. Red leaves float through the air, and one lands on your picnic basket as you lift it and a blanket from your saddle bags. You settle on the bank of the river, close enough to the water to remove your boots and dip your toes in. As you do, water rises and begins to take shape. It's the river kami, and you're just in time for your lunch plans together. Note that for Zendikar Rising, Magic: The Gathering Arenawill not be implementing The List. On tabletop Magic, The Listdoesn't affect format legality, but on MTG Arenait would add these cards to Historic. While some cards from The Listmay eventually make their way to Historic, we want to be a bit more purposeful on MTG Arenawhen adding new cards. The main difference between set and collector boosters is that collector boosters have more rares and are more expensive, but every card has a different treatment, be it unique/alternate art or foil. You’ll get more extended art versions or alternate art versions this way. This means that 23.4% of the time (so just under one fourth of the time) you will open at least one extra rare or mythic rare in the Set Booster, and that's just from the wildcard slots. We have yet another way to get an extra rare coming up. There are 22 Ninja creatures in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, plus the ninja planeswalker Kaito Shizuki. You can find alternate versions of all of them, each with new art in the Ninja frame: At least 1 rare or mythic rare card (approximately 27% of Set Boosters contain 2 rares or mythic rares, 3% contain 3, and less than 1% contain 4.) One of the big shifts in R&D's thinking in recent years is the idea of adapting our products to the audience rather than making the audience adapt to our products. That is, we have to figure out who is buying our game and what it is they want and then make products which can meet those needs.
