About this deal

I used the Commlite AF adapter on the MFT - Olympus E-M5 mk 2 and EM-1 + Canon 70-200 / 4.0 and Canon 100mm / 2.0. It worked fine. Not saying that there are advantages to have a FF sensor but in the days when most camera kits are good enough for purpose then the matter is personal choice. Which is a good thing to have when personal choice is thought out and a change to FF gives enough advantages when you might currently have a great M4/3 kit that serves purposes well.

No. The flange distance of L mount is 20 mm and that of MFT is 19.25 mm. That leaves just 0.75 mm for the adapter, which is in all likelihood too little for a reasonably sturdy adapter to be made. AFAIK, none exists and I think it unlikely that anyone will try to make one. It would enable a great upgrade path for M43 users with a lot of lenses. I would love to buy a S5 and use my wide range of M43 lenses in crop mode... Over time I would be willing to invest in L-mount glass too.Addition of the new l mount lens from Panasonic Lumix S 24mm f/1.8 L that will be released in October 2021, But I point out that Sigma seems to be able to take a lens that it sells with EF mount and remount it as “L”and it will do C-AF and yet it cannot put EF to L with C-AF into their MC-21. I bought Jintu (MF only) and Commlite (AF) for EF-M4/3 the Jintu was uber-cheap and did exactly what it promised - made EF lenses into MF lenses with aperture control. The Commlite was a little more expensive, gave the same MF control and some AF with some EF mount lenses. This was pre-firmware update port. There was no issue with build quality on either brand, but they seem to have been built from the same components. I am thinking of getting the recently released sigma 2/35mm which alas only comes in Sony E mount and Panasonic Leica L mount Growing in popularity, the L-mount is based on Leica’s T-mount system, which stems from the Leica T (Typ 701) APS-C format digital camera, launched in 2014. With the subsequent launch of the Leica SL full-frame camera, the name was changed to the L-mount, with sub-categories of TL for APS-C format lenses and SL for full-frame. Bigger news came in September 2018, with the advent of the L-mount Alliance, formed by Leica, Panasonic and Sigma. This enabled all three companies to manufacture cameras with ‘interchangeable’ lenses in every sense of the word.

As L-mount flange distance is even shorter then M mount, through the Leica M-adapter L (T), all my collection of full frame vintage lenses are compatible via my M adaptors. Now I have a stable platform to work with most of my lens collection. A 37,5mm lens is harder to find, but then there is the 40mm class... I have an Konica Hexanon 40mm F1.8, quite nice lens. And I had the Oly Zuiko 40mm F2, loved it. Also note that Sigma does offer a service to convert other-mount versions of their own lenses to L-Mount - presumably taking a lens that cannot be adapted to L - C-AF capable - and making the converted lens now C-AF in the process.

The M-adaptor-L is pricey, but it bring 6-bit coding to the camera directly, so M-mount lens profile can be loaded directly on the file. Canon M System - maybe but you are giving up a lot of features and the EOS-M lens lineup doesn't leave a lot of room for growth That sounds even more impossible. Are you sure you are not mixing up something here. For example, old FT lenses can be adapted to L mount since they have have a much bigger flange distance than L. Anodized aluminum construction.Smooth surface for effortless mount, fine made to be light weight and strong. Or effortless mount, fine made to be light weight and strong.

The L mount has a flange focal distance of 20 mm versus 19.25 mm for MFT, leaving only .75 mm for the adapter. That makes adapter construction very difficult if not impossible. Cheap, a new player in the EF-L adapter field is always welcome, they now have a firmware update port, maybe it will work with the EF lens that you own - especially if it is one that works with most every other adapter. Will possibly entice quite a few EF mount lens owners to join the L-Mount club.

The 5DSR files are horrid, horrid, horrid when you try to raise the shadows EVEN a little they have a strong ugly colour cast. The M5 files are much, much better in the shadows than the 5DS R. The Leica is about the same as the M5 in the shadows but brutally clips the highlights so you have to be careful to expose. With the support of Olympus for MFT now in doubt and Panasonic seeking to capitalize on an MFT/FF strategy, could the future actually be dropping support for the MFT mount? Could MFT sensors appear in Panasonic's L-mount cameras? Could Panasonic take a similar approach to Nikon, allowing their FF models to shoot in MFT crop mode? While it's unlikely you could cross-mount MFT lenses on L-mount bodies (their flange distances are 19.25 and 19 mm respectively), Panasonic could easily adapt their existing MFT lineup. I thought might bea third way, but there isn't. The throat diameter of the L-mount interface is 51mm, for the M43 interface 38mm.The bearing surface for an M43 lens is about 50mm in diameter.

After having discussed and detailed all the lenses for the main and the most famous brands, we move on to the brands that I consider as secondary. Leica is a German brand known for offering quality cameras and lenses at a high cost. Essentially it would be the cost of an Olympus MC-20, plus the cost to modify it on the camera side for L-mount. Super powerful compatibility. Suitable for use on Sony E-mount camera body, you can transfer EF/EF-S lens group to your Sony E-mount camera body, through the new combination, let you shoot more beautiful works.

This Lens Mount Adapter, is made with high standard precision. Its all metal design and polished surface is designed to guarantee smooth mounting and long lasting experiences. It allows Pentax K/PK Lenses to fit on a Sony Alpha NEX E-Mount system camera body. Sigma fp on the other hand has no sensor base IBIS, but you can customise colour cast compensation in camera by shoting through lens to define the colour and shading cast, and you can save I believe up to 8 lens profiles with custom names. Very handy for voigtlander/Laowa/7artisan lenses in my experience. Given the small size camera, the clean high ISO output with electronic shutter, I like the fp a lot. To convert the lenses a slight modification is made to the rear of the lens barrel and the supplied mount is replaced with one of the company’s own stainless steel mounts. Once the conversion is done users can swop the mount themselves - so an adapted L mount lens can be used on both S and G series Lumix cameras. The conversion is only possible in the MFT versions of these lenses though, so when the adapted mount is removed only a MFT mount can replace it.
