About this deal

But if you prefer something more rigid that you can use on demanding terrain, then you may have to look for another pair altogether. All in all, the Helios 3.0 is a perfect running shoe for trail races. Pros The Bushido is somewhat on the expensive side of the scale, but the features it comes with are worth the price tag. The Akasha trail running shoe comes with a high-cushioned sole and built with top-quality material. The leather is best referred to as a long-lasting and highly durable material. What is more, the Gore-Tex material will prevent water from getting into your footwear while it maintains the breathability and ventilation. Terrain

The Crossover 2.0 GTX is built sturdily, and this contributes to the overall comfort as it grasps the user’s feet in all the right ways. The La Sportiva Ultra Raptor running shoes are built with the brand’s unique synthetic solution that makes the footwear feel amazing against your skin while in use. Since the brand can test its product right there in the Italian Dolomites, it is not surprising that they can maintain and churn out top-quality footwear consistently. DurabilityBreathability is also retained as a result of the open-weave mesh. La Sportiva Bushido and Akasha are some of the trail running shoes that showcase this unique feature. Responsive and predictable without heavily impacting comfort (although there are definitely more cushioned models available). UPPER: Breathable air mesh with thermoplastic film reinforcements, TPU medial skeleton placed laterally on rip-stop inserts. Famed for its impressive stability and durability, the La Sportiva Bushido has been a long standing favourite amongst trial runners worldwide. I for one loved my original pair of Bushidos. The model got a revamp in 2019, and of course I had to get my hands on a pair! I am now on my second pair of the Bushido II and so I thought it was about time I shared the love. Bushido vs Bushido II

The La Sportiva Helios SR is a breathable and abrasion-resistant running shoe that has garnered attention among elite runners. This is because the top-quality cushioning that comes with this running shoe gives you the courage to conquer any terrain. Update: We tested the La Sportiva Bushido in 2017, and it received an update in 2018/2019. It is now the Bushido II, and features an updated heel design, wrapping lugs, and an updated tongue. Shoes change often, and we do our best to keep up. We still think the original Bushido is a fantastic shoe, and recommend getting it on sale while you can, or trying on the new version. Bushido Specifications The "STB Control" construction utilises a TPU frame that wraps under foot to provide maximum stability, responsiveness, and reduce overall weight. The FriXion Red double compound sole has different support surfaces: the rounded shape of the external lugs rises sideways to touch the midsole, creating a gradual support angle with the ground, for even better stability. The La Sportiva Akyra is remarkably protective, thanks to the avalanche of cushioning it comes with to ensure users remain comfortable and hurt-free. This running shoe is not too overweight as well. The La Sportiva Headquarters is located in Ziano di Fiemme, a small mountain village in the heart of the Italian Dolomites. It is constructed with leather, fabric, and its traction is highly remarkable along with exceptional support and comfort. If you’ve been tuned into the outdoor shoe game over the last five years, things have been interesting. You might have gone through the barefoot phase – I certainly did. And we’ve all tried trail running sandals. “Drop” is everyone’s new favorite footwear tech term.

I wore the Bushido trail runners on every adventure for five weeks. I ran the rim of Tsegi Canyon in Navajo National Monument. I trekked over Pitamakan and Triple Divide Passes where I scoped mountain goats and stood my ground just 50 feet from a grizzly bear. The La Sportiva Bushido shoes saw me through some high times and a few unforgettable moments, and performed well. Revelation: The Moment I Knew Secondly, whenever you wash your foot-apparel, endeavor to use only mild soap, cold water, and your bare hands – though you can use a brush with soft bristles – to clean up the areas that require extra scrubbing. Do not spin-wash your La Sportiva footwear, no matter what. This is because such action will damage your washing machine or the footwear itself. Some users even claim that the La Sportiva Helios is the “minimalist running shoe for trail runners” since users can feel the ground through the soles as they run. Nevertheless, these running shoes do the job they are designed for, and that is to ensure every user has an enjoyable experience while hitting the trails without fear or favor.Wet surfaces can also be an issue when running on trails; therefore, choose runners with Vibram Soles for extra grip and traction. FAQs The soft materials are snug, yet gentle on your feet while the icing on the cake is the super-stable soles which have made La Sportiva footwear the household name it is today.

La Sportiva was founded in 1928 by Narciso Delladio in Italy, so it’s safe to say they’ve been in the mountain equipment game for a long time. One of the Bushido II's standout features is its supportive and extremely stable ride. The low-slung design and stiff construction allow it to power through rough sections of trail, and the snug fit offers a connected feeling between my foot and the ground (there was no movement between my foot and the shoe). Further, I’ve been especially impressed by the Bushido II’s confidence on off-camber surfaces. It’s worth noting that I do pronate a bit (my foot rolls slightly inward with each step), and I prefer a neutral shoe like the Bushido on variable terrain. Unless you have a major issue with significant pronation or supination (rolling to the outside edge of the foot), the Bushido II should provide ample stability on most trails. It is an excellent choice if you want to invest in a durable and functional pair of trail running shoes without splashing out too much. Pros Last but not least, you should allow your La Sportiva footwear to air-dry only. This is not, in any way, meant to imply that you should expose your running shoes to the harshness of direct sunlight. If you do, the foam and the plastics will warp inevitably, and this will potentially shrink them in such a way that your La Sportiva footwear will not fit your feet well afterward. The Crossover 2.0 GTX has a fine-looking but simple lacing system and the grip zone – which is the best feature this stunning trail running footwear showcases – is designed to help users negotiate icy and snowy conditions. The Helios SR is loaded with a unique technology from La Sportiva known as MorphoDynamic midsole technology that is designed to keep your running shoe rigid. Stability has to do with you and your running style. This is why experts recommend that you go for or select footwear that is similar to your road running shoe. So look out for La Sportiva shoes with excellent stability, extra cushioning, and flexibility features. Armed with this information will help you make the best choice when searching for the best running shoe to buy. Protection I still love them just as much as the original Bushido, so much so that I am now onto my second pair of Bushido IIs and looking forward to abusing them for another year or so. The tongue is updated to a more rubbery, padded, and gusseted tongue that you now also see in La Sportiva’s Kaptiva. While I prefer the more traditional tongue, it does adequately protect the foot from the laces and stays in place. My anterior tibialis tendons aren’t quite so sure about the updated tongue but I do prefer this one to the Kaptiva since it’s more flexible as my ankle dorsiflexes forward over it with every step.
