Called Star Wars: Clone Wars – A Pandemic System Game, the upcoming board game will feature a cast of recognisable characters including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. The board game - which shares a name with both a Star Wars film and animated television series - will see players attempting to defend the freedom of the Republic from the threat of the Separatists by completing missions across the galaxy.

While the actors themselves do a decent job of performing their on-screen counterparts appropriately, the compression is easily the most noticeable in these parts, and especially when the lines are layered on during a battle sequence. For a typical Cube owner, this kind of compressed audio is nothing new, but to seasoned PC, Xbox, or even PS2 gamer, the tin can voices will be a distraction. Again, the level at which this distraction hinders your gameplay experience is inversely proportional to your inbred level of Star Wars infatuation. Regardless of the conveyance at your disposal, you'll be up against lots and lots of enemy droids in every level, and they make for great cannon fodder, just like in the films. The game's 16-mission campaign isn't very long, but it does take you to a number of different Star Wars worlds, from the dusty Geonosis seen in Episode II to Kashyyyk, the woodsy home of the Wookiees, and almost all the missions are fairly different from one another. That's not to say the missions are totally surprising. Some are all-out battles against lots of enemies, some are desperate races away from or to certain points, some require you to defend convoys or installations for certain periods of time, and some are rescue missions.The squad cards are a really neat addition that will delight diehard fans. Each one contains a different character or vehicle and the Stealth and Assault cards all feature clones, so familiar faces like Commander Gree, Fives, and Echo pop up frequently. We even found ourselves trying to keep cards that featured our favourite troopers. XCOM vibes, anyone? For Ortloff-Tang and the entire team behind Star Wars: The Clone Wars, creating the game has been an unexpected and wonderful adventure.

Team up with your friends as legendary Jedi, each with their own unique mastery of the Force to assist in not only combat, but in traversing the galaxy and completing missions. Play as heroes of the Clone Wars saga such as Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, Yoda, Aayla Secura, and Luminara Undula as you fight off the Separatists while they attempt to gain control of more and more planets. Anakin Skywalker is sent to Alaris Prime, the Kashyyyk moon, to be executed. Skywalker and the other prisoners are doomed to be killed by the Force Harvester, an ancient Sith weapon that drains the Force from all living things within its range.
