Although subtle, Topre use two font sizes for their printed legends. The smaller size was used on some of their older keyboards and keyboards that have two language character sets (e.g. English + Hiragana or English + Hangul). The easiest way to tell is to observe the distance between the top of the keycap and the top of the printed legend. The larger font will be much closer to the top edge of the keycap than the small font. A non-detachable cable makes the keyboard more susceptible to breaking at the wire and more difficult to repair. Not to mention, it’s really clunky and difficult to transport. Topre keycaps also come in their own unique profile, which makes typing on them feel quite interesting. Every nerd with Collector's Disease knows about the dream of the "endgame," that theoretically perfect item that will end the definitionally never-ending quest. I expected the RealForce's appeal to accordingly pale as soon as it settled on my desk. But this quiet, satisfying, timelessly stylish beast is everything I want and more. And the price? Well, at least it's cheaper than buying a half dozen new keyboards. At the Tokyo Game Show, held in September, 2017, Topre revealed a new line of Realforce keyboards [6]. Dubbed the 'Realforce R2', the new keyboards borrow features from the previously released Realforce RGB, including the case and PCB design, and on some R2 models, the APC (Actuation Point Changer) feature. The initial announcement comprised of 8 Japanese-layout models. The 2 standard and 2 standard + silenced models were released in October and November respectively. The 4 APC models were released in December, 2017.Data point recognition and extraction accuracy can be impacted by many factors such as invoice formatting, font (handwriting) and graphics, scanner issues, etc.

Actuation Point Change (APC) technology, allowing the user to select from 3 different actuation points (1.5, 2.2, or 3.0mm)The Realforce R2 RGB also lights up all of the secondary functions on keys. However, only the main key sections (letters, numbers, punctuation) get the best lighting, because the secondary functions are positioned beside the primary functions instead of below. The F-key row see the brightness taper off lower on the keycap, where the secondary functions are, making them harder to see and kind of shoddy looking. While the issues don’t jump out at you, if you take a closer look the issues become more apparent. The Switches The Epomaker NiZ Plum Atom 68, still comes with an electro-capacitive switch design, similar to Topre, but at a much more affordable price point.

Contoured key settings allows your hands and wrists to type in a natural position, reducing hand and finger fatigue. Realforce keyboards with uniformly weighted keys are also made in 30 grams, 45 grams and 55 grams configurations. Uniformly weighted configurations are perhaps more popular with gamers because the popular ‘WASD’ cluster is not made up of differently weighted keys like it is on a variable keyboard.Keyboard utilises "silenced" switches. Dampening is achieved using a foam & plastic washer between the slider's base plate and the switch housing's ceiling. The build quality of the Topre Realforce TKL is quite excellent. The case is made entirely of a plastic construction with a stainless steel plate which makes the keyboard extra rigid.
