About this deal

Here the rest of the detail parts such as the spot lights and jerry cans are painted up and attached to the body. As Tamiya TS paints are currently unavailable in the UK, I used Halfords Ford Electric/Monza Blue for the roof panel. The DT-02 bathtub chassis has its battery loaded in the centre for ultimate weight distribution and balance. The gearbox is completely enclosed to protect it from interference by dirt and debris. With 4 wheel independent suspension, it displays excellent handling evenon rough surfaces. Now the rear suspension comes together. The rear uprights have their bearings and shafts inserted now and these are then attached to the wishbones, taking in the two chunky moulded plastic driveshafts too.

When many heard of the Holiday Buggy’s re-release there was excitement and disapproval in seemingly equal measure from Tamiya fans. Some vintage collectors liked the fact that they could have a retro styled basher on a modern chassis which was well priced and easy to get bits for. Others just abhorred the fact that it wasn’t on the original chassis…Many collectors don't really desire this kit (not my opinion though), because it will always stay in the shadow of it's heavy metal counterpart: the Sand Scorcher. To me it's my first car considered as a 'classic'. It was also the car that started this whole hobby of collecting to me. Other than that, it might be very 'plastic', but I learned to respect that as you should never underestimate it. (Yes, I got a Fighter Buggy as well) Now, Tamiya is proud to release the updated Holiday Buggy (2010), which comes mounted on the proven DT-02 chassis. Please note: These ‘ready to run bundles’ includes everything you need to operate this model once the kit is built. This is a kit which will require building. This model comes with a blue shell.
