Certain guests have an affinity for particular actions, so those cards return to a player’s hand after being discarded. Final Score: 4 Stars – A great little card game that combines some solid hand management with a slow engine building mechanic. If someone suggests you should spend a night at The Bloody Inn, you should think twice! Some of the guests leave this inn inside of a body bag… All actions except laundering money are performed using the same process. Play a number of accomplices from your hand equal to the rank of the guest (or accomplice) the action applies to. Return any with an affinity for the action performed to your hand and discard the rest. At the end of the day, you must pay each accomplice in your hand or they’ll leave your service.This action allows you to take a Guest card from the inn into your hand. Guests in your hand are your accomplices, who will help you in your macabre enterprise. The Carnies contains 52 new cards spread across three separate modules that can be used in any combination. Except for the following modifications, the base game rules remain unchanged: The First Player is responsible for welcoming travelers for this round. He must perform the following steps: Bribe a guest: Choose a traveler in the inn, play as many cards from your hand equal to the rank of the guest being bribed (0-3) and take the bribed guest into your hand. Any cards you played that have the bribe symbol are returned to your hand with the rest being discarded. Note: Police and Peasant cards cannot become annexes (notice that there is no house icon at the bottom of these cards), so they cannot be chosen as +the target of the Build action.
In a 2- or 3-player game, place a Key token of the neutral color on each of 3 doors of the inn. In a 4-player game, place one on each of 4. In the event of a tie, the winner is the richest player who has the most corpses under his annexes. If there is still a tie, then the game ends in a tie, and you must play again!!A family of rural farmers invest in an inn to make as much money as they can. You play one of the greedy innkeepers, as you compete against each other to be the most prosperous. But how far will you go and how many of your guests will leave the inn alive? Taking care of the rich and powerful can be a rewarding experience. Once you’ve disposed of the victims you can help yourself to their money. After all the work you’ve had to do you’ve earned it! The Bloody Inn was one of the 2015 Essen releases that I was really looking forward to trying. A unique theme combined with some stellar artwork always piques my interest. All this combined with cards that can be used in more than one way is usually a win in my book. Select the Traveler you want to bribe from among those renting rooms at the inn, regardless of who owns that room.In the same way, it is possible to bribe the peasants that are in the bistro. If you choose to bribe peasants, you can take one or two (your choice: it is easier to corrupt peasants!). Peasants are rank 0, and thus do not require playing any cards to bribe them. Everyone has skeletons in the closet. But you have them in the barn, the vegetable garden, and the butcher shop too. Well, you can't just leave them lying around for anyone to find! Growing a business means expansion and diversification. Parlors, parks and gardens, distilleries, and workshops will all amplify the attraction of your inn. Each new annex delivers a competitive advantage. Not to mention a few more places to conceal a corpse or two! The main thing that drew me to The Bloody Inn, other than the unique theme, was the outstanding artwork. The dark and creative style really drew me in and felt like it fit the theme of the game perfectly. Each card is colorfully illustrated with a picture of the guest, and also contains any relevant game information. The game is divided into two seasons, each of which has a variable number of rounds.
