Stoic, broody, and arrogant, elite bodyguard Rhys Larsen has two rules: 1) Protect his clients at all costs 2) Do not become emotionally involved. Ever. He has never once been tempted to break those rulesā€¦until her. Bridget von Ascheberg. A princess with a stubborn streak that matches his own and a hidden fire that reduces his rules to ash. Sheā€™s nothing he expected and everything he never knew he needed. Day by day, inch by inch, she breaks down his defenses until heā€™s faced with a truth he can no longer deny: he swore an oath to protect her, but all he wants is to ruin her. Take her. Because sheā€™s his. His princess. His forbidden fruit. His every depraved fantasy. *** Regal, strong-willed, and bound by the chains of duty, Princess Bridget dreams of the freedom to live and love as she chooses. But when her brother abdicates, sheā€™s suddenly faced with the prospect of a loveless, politically expedient marriage and a throne she never wanted. And as she navigates the intricaciesā€”and treacheriesā€”of her new role, she must also hide her desire for a man she canā€™t have. Her bodyguard. Her protector. Her ultimate ruin. Unexpected and forbidden, theirs is a love that could destroy a kingdomā€¦and doom them both. Twisted Games is a slow to medium burn contemporary royal bodyguard romance. Itā€™s book two of the Twisted series but can be read as a standalone. Warning: This book contains a possessive alpha hero, explicit sexual content, and profanity. [134]ā€¦more Twisted Games (Twisted, #2) by Ana Huang ā€“ eBook Details My life was an unending, unchanging midnight. It must by necessity, always be midnight for me. So how was it possible that the sun was rising now, in the middle of my midnight?"

Seeing Ava and Alex again, happy and together, was also so pleasing to read about and seeing the other characters as well was so endearing!

Also, Bridgetā€™s brother Nikolai is a selfish POS. The way he just put everything on Bridgetā€™s shoulders was so shitty. I canā€™t believe Bridget wasnā€™t angry as hell that her entire life was uprooted because Nikolai wanted to think about himself šŸ™„ Now, I was drinking my daily wheatgrass smoothie and eating toast in the kitchen like it was a normal day." I canā€™t imagine a better duo than a lawyer and a doctor. Itā€™s awesome. They just are there to talk with each other like in the library with Tanyaā€™s death, or at the Picnic trying to get Josh to finally move on with Alex, also when Josh finally went to go see his father and Jules was there for him. Thatā€™s all the matters just being there for someone and I think thatā€™s what makes them so good together. And the chemistry between them is fantastic. Anyways I love Josh and Jules šŸ¤ The thing that bothered me the most, however, wasn't the writing, it was the TIME JUMPS. This was insane. I felt like this book was just a bunch of one-shots (by that I'm not talking about the smut but rather emphasizing how uncoherent the story was, it felt like a collection of short stories about the protagonists) and absurdly huge time jumps in between. Often times, I found myself really enjoying the story and the progression of it and then boom, A THREE-MONTH TIME JUMP that provided nothing but gave the author a chance to move on with the next plot point without building any relationships between the characters. this book was a masterclass in how you not only give enough time for the relationship between the couple to develop but, also how to insert side characters/previous characters from the series without taking it away from the main couple.

Well, I liked this better than I expected. Going in with lower expectation was definitely the right choice so I ended up liking this a bit better than the first book. And as she navigates the intricaciesā€”and treacheriesā€”of her new role, she must also hide her desire for a man she can't have. Her bodyguard. Her protector. Her ultimate ruin. alex cuddling ava whilst looking at the other couples in disgust... this book erased alex volkovs short lived singing career for me because why was he hot here... DON'T LOOK AT ME GUYS I'M PROBABLY OVULATING. and the suspense element was also much better in the first book because there was actually some action. the suspense (can we even call it that?) in this was so badly done compared to the first book. i think i appreciate ava and alex's story more in that aspect because we actually see it unfold and, like i said, there was actually some action. not only that, but right from the beginning, we're thrown into this "suspenseful" act so we go through the book wondering what's happening (even if you know what it was). with this, there was none of it for me.Regal, strong-willed, and bound by the chains of duty, Princess Bridget dreams of the freedom to live and love as she chooses. But when her brother abdicates, she's suddenly faced with the prospect of a loveless, politically expedient marriage and a throne she never wanted. Same with the 2nd book, it was kind of fast, I feel like people say its a slow-burn cuz its like over a couple of years but I wish instead of all the time jumps, we could see more of the anticipation, the angst and the tension building I feel like that would've made it much better. I didn't really like Rhys that much tbh like he was kind of boring, but like when he was with Bridget he was very whipped. They had a lot of cute moments together tho which I rlly liked and I loved how Bridget proves the sexist parliament guy wrong. Once again the smut in this series was kind of weird like one of the things Rhys says is "Remember in public you're my princess but in private you're my whore" and I just don't get why the guy's in this series gotta call the fmcs "thier" sluts or whores just whyyy, but other than that I liked the book I'm just not that big of a smut reader.

This may be one of my favorite covers yet. Iā€™m obsessed with the gold flower, which is perfect for Dominic & Alessandra šŸ˜ but all jokes aside personally, aside from 3 instances (christian washing stella's hair, saying the line "you taste like mine" and keeping stella's ring for 5 years), i didn't feel like TL is a copy of TMO and take it from someone who inhales and adores danielle's writing, and have previously called out a different author who blatantly copied scenes from TSO. was it inspired? sure. plagiarised? no. quite frankly it's disrespectful to christiangianna if you keep comparing the two. Another thing I loved about the series is how connected each of the books were and how you got to see the characters in previous books grow and develop as well. It was so much fun seeing this mismatched group of people go from college friends to adults managing their success and families. The highlight was absolutely reading about Alex with his children - My heart MELTED!

Stoic, broody and arrogant bodyguard Rhys Larsen has two rules: protect his clients at all costs and do not become emotionally involved. He has never once been tempted to break those rulesā€¦ until her. Princess Bridget von Ascheberg. But she canā€™t deny that, beneath his cool exterior, is a man who could make her melt with just a touch. Like Rhys being able to be himself and open up to someone for the first time and feeling so comfortable and feeling AT HOME with Bridget, made my heart beat a million miles per second!!! Believe it or not, this book also had some strong points. It was fast-paced, it was enjoyable, it was addicting, and it was a huge improvement compared to Twisted Love. I found myself rooting for the protagonists, gasping at the plot twist etc. It definitely motivated me to continue reading this series in hopes of finding an installment that I like the most.

Driven by a tragedy that has haunted him for most of his life, his ruthless pursuits for success and vengeance leave little room for matters of the heart.
