About this deal

The A-88MKII is a long-awaited update to Roland's much loved A-88 full-size piano action MIDI keyboard. The footprint is compact - good news if you’re using it in the studio, and at 16kg it's not too heavy for live use.

If you ever decide to change them out, Durgod provide a nice wire keycap puller to make the process easier. We also take a look at its design and ergonomics. A top priority for keyboards is that they have to minimize finger, wrist, and shoulder fatigue. For compact keyboards, we also test out just how travel-friendly or ideal for small setups they are.Sadly, there’s no tenkeyless (without a numberpad) version, so make sure you have the desk space to accommodate the Razer if it takes your fancy. It's not just pretty though; the typing performance is also on-point. Those switches are very responsive and great to type on, especially when combined with this keyboard's gasket mounted design, which also helps with making it slightly quieter than other mech keyboards. There's also no noticeable latency with the wireless connection, even thoughit does take a second for it to re-establish, we've noticed. The Logitech MX Keys Mini is among the best keyboards in the mini keyboards market. Being not only compact but also thin and lightweight, it's just as ideal for travel and commutes, as it is for home use, which gives it that versatility many remote and hybrid workers are seeking these days. Not all keyboards are created equal. In fact, not all keyboards are even laid out the same (and we're not referring to the standard QWERTY key layout versus the Dvorak arrangement of some early ergonomic models).

Apple’s Magic Keyboard is the most comfortable, reliable and good-looking keyboard we’ve ever had the pleasure of using, and it’s simply the best keyboard for Mac users. It’s actually incredible how sleek and thin this keyboard is, especially considering how comfortable it is to use. Hyper X offers their own PBT Pudding keycaps if you want to improve the RGB lighting even further and make your keyboard a lightshow. The stabilizers are proprietary stabilizers, which also means the stabilized keycaps are proprietary. For melodic sequencing duties and flexible hardware control, we found this to be easily one of the best do-it-all controllers out there right now. Its compact size may deter serious ‘players’ - Novation’s SL Mk3 remains the best CV-equipped device on that front - but modular and hardware-loving musicians will likely lap this one up. The stabilizers come pre-lubricated from the factory, but can be further improved easily with lubing, clipping, and band-aid modding.

With a body made entirely of aircraft grade aluminum, this low profile floating keycap design is a hefty and well-built keyboard. A welcome feature on the Mistel X-VIII is the inclusion of dedicated volume shortcuts above the numpad, as well as a key to launch your calculator app. Also absent is the dedicated MIDI out port, but perhaps the biggest difference is that the Oxygen 49’s functions are mostly triggered via soft keys and via ‘secondary modes’ from the keybed itself. Among the best transparent mechanical keyboards on the market, the KiiBOOM Phantom 81 boasts pre-lubed Crystal switches that allows it to literally sparkle, especially when you turn that vibrant RGB lighting on. So, if you're an RGB fan but would like to use a non-gaming keyboard for work, this is going to make you giddy. If build quality, modification options, ultra-crisp typing action and proper support for Mac and Linux, as well as Windows, are what you are looking for in a mechanical keyboard then you absolutely need to look at the Keychron lineup. The V Series is basically an affordable take on the premium and highly regarded Q Series and carries over all the Q’s strengths while giving little away. Any mediocre keyboard can function properly as an input device. However, a high-quality option is more accurate, faster, and a lot more responsive, as well as more satisfying and more comfortable to type on. If it's a wireless keyboard, you'll find that the higher quality ones have better connectivity as well. In fact, we recommend getting one even if you don't spend all day typing away at your computer. It also comes fully-loaded with features, boasting three connectivity options, multi-device connectivity, and a luxurious wrist pad to kept our wrists comfortable especially during long typing sessions. Due to the added height of the keys, we found our wrists bending upward to type effectively, but the wrist pad does offer enough support to mitigate the issue. The new G80-3000N RGB is a reinvention of that classic, designed to appeal to today’s more demanding users. Carryovers include the classic ergonomic keycaps and original typing feel, but these are now combined with a much slimmer, more contemporary housing, 16-million colour illumination and state-of-the-art electronics. Does the new model actually feel like the classic model? We’ve not used a G80-3000 for more than 15 years but the reworked model certainly felt familiar once we started tapping away on it. The Bluetooth works well out of the box and the battery allows for up to 10 days of wireless connectivity with the RGB turned off.
