It is a shame that the Ooba cannot quite meet the, admittedly, very high quality level of the other brands in this price range. Seat The harness is 5 point with crotch and chest protectors. The Ooba carrycot comes with a raincover which fits really well. It is also covered in the small Ooba leaf logs and looks great when in place. So when Cosatto got in touch a couple of months ago to ask if I’d want to sample their new model, the Ooba, I was a little hesitant. Could it improve on what were my two totally adequate prams? Turned out that yes, yes it absolutely could. The day it arrived I was pretty excited. It matched my carpet! Look at that print! The beautiful blues! You can’t deny this is one good looking pram. I set about unboxing and building it, something I managed on my own and with minimal fuss (score one Ooba, the Bugaboo was not this easy).With instructions, the system is easy to set up (albeit time consuming) and interchanging between all the different options is effortless. The chairs are roomy and comfortable, and neither the car seat nor the travel system (as a whole) is too heavy. Kerbs can be a challenge but this is more likely a result of wheel positioning than weight. Why do I need a new mattress? At Baby Birds we recommend new baby, new mattress’ there has been many researches on babies and their sleeping environment.

The seat is incredibly comfy and the straps easy to do up, a must when you’re wearing gloves/have cold hands/a wriggly toddler. Because Hux is a stubborn thing and doesn’t like to sleep when he’s in the pram (he prefers to grumble annoyingly because Mama is trying on yet another pair of jeans) we haven’t tested the recline capability so much, but Elfie loves to ‘pretend’ with it. A long pram too, means that although Alexander is a tall 19 month old, he will have at least another year and a half of pram time with the Ooba. Position your baby at the foot end of the crib so baby’s feet are at the bottom of the sleeping area. That way your baby cannot slip under the covers. The Ooba also comes with a matching nappy bag which fits into the generous basket underneath the buggy, along with your toddler if you so wish (this probably isn’t recommended. Probably). Simply select from the drop down – choose from square, round or combi end. A combi end is a square ended mattress that is rounded/clipped so it is in-between the round and the square ended mattress. The whole product marketing push is based on attracting buyers that are thinking of purchasing the ultimate pushchair. So, first impressions? Like I said, this is a looker of a pram. If it were a man it would be a Bradley Cooper.
