About this deal

Gin: Use your favorite gin. Durham Distillery Conniption (American Dry) Gin is an old standby, but I've also been enjoying Bar Hill Gin lately, too. Use whatever you like!

I have taken advice from Sipsmiths (as they know a thing or two about gin) and utilised their sloe gin advice. Here they advise adding the sugar at the end of the infusion process rather than at the start. They say that “ contrary to popular belief, there is very little point in adding sugar at the outset. Saturating the spirit with sugar prevents it from extracting the natural fruit sugars – and other flavours – from the [fruit]“.

ALDI’S 2023 CHRISTMAS GIN RANGE GIVES GIN DRINKERS SOMETHING TO CHEERS ABOUT

Making this cranberry gin drink is super easy. Everything gets mixed together in a glass. There is no shaker, no muddling or anything extra required. Just pour all of the ingredients in a glass filled with ice, and mix. Top with the ginger ale at the last minute so the drink stays nice and fizzy when you serve it. Simple Syrup: you can easily make homemade simple syrup, which is prepared by heating equal parts water and white sugar. Once dissolved, add a little bit of the sugary water at a time to the gin, tasting it as you go, until you have the desired sweetness. Sometimes, I make my Cranberry Gin without any additional flavourings. If I do decide to add another flavouring, I tend to just add one as I like the clear, clean taste of the cranberries.

For a glamorous gift, add some edible gold leaf flakes. You only a very small pinch to create a glamorous look and a small pot will last a long time.I know that many of you have been following all the alcohol infusions I’ve been making this past year or so. By now, you should all be pros at it (if you weren’t before), and there probably isn’t anything left for me to teach you! It’s fruity, and not only a touch sweet, but also, with a definite hit of cranberry bitter. The vanilla adds just the merest hint of mellow creaminess to it, barely discernible. They all seemed to work well mixed as 1 part sugar syrup to 6 parts cranberry gin, at least to our taste. This is probably less sweet than many sloe gins, but worked well for this. The beauty of making your own, though, is you can adapt to taste. Tasting notes

Garnishes: As always, garnishes aren't mandatory. But I recommend garnishing your G&T with cranberries (fresh or sugared) and/or a lime wedge. Whether you’re hosting a holiday party or just looking for a new drink to try, these recipes are sure to impress. So grab a bottle of cranberry liqueur and let’s get mixing! 1. Desert ShieldThen use your jigger to measure 4 oz of cranberry juice and dump that into the highball glass as well.
