About this deal

Throughout his life Rudolf alternated between bouts of elation and melancholy. As a ruler, he would withdraw from court from weeks on end, or speak in an inaudible voice. He gave generous support to the astronomers Tycho Brahe and Johannes Kepler, helping to lay the foundation of the Scientific Revolution. Blessed and cursed with, as one historian put it, a willingness to believe almost everything, Rudolf was an equally enthusiastic supporter of astrologers, alchemists and mystics of every stripe. 8. I actually had an entire review planned out in my head of me just hating on this book, but I realized that I didn't have to waste energy writing a review for a book that doesn't even deserve one *writes one anyway* Astrid me dijo una vez que soy una noche oscura. Es en las noches oscuras cuando las estrellas como ella brillan más”

The storybook art style might not be to everyone’s taste, but I’m quite fond of it, and it’s undeniably one of The Cruel King and the Great Hero ’s biggest strengths. The second is the emotion the story elicits.

The first book of that duet was good. This book reminded me of that duet when there was a mention of Elsa LOSING her memories (could memories be a euphemism for brain cells? Hmm, I wonder.) after being in an accident. I remember something similar happened to the h in All The Lies. I don’t know what’s the author’s fixation with making her heroines suffer from amnesia (when they already suffer from STUPIDITY) suffering two terminal diseases must be hard. Elsa might not have my respect but she has my (reluctant) sympathy. He was Mongol leader and known for his military genius, political statesman and bloodthirsty terror. There is legend that he slaughter the certain height of people by saying dwarf people don’t have right to live after the every battle of his life. Hence, there is folklore that every third person in the world has lineage of Gengis Khan.

When Gavin needs a fake girlfriend to take to his cousins wedding, Whitley steps up. It’s easy to pretend because she knows him so well but pretending is all it can be. Yet, Whitley and Gavin have sizzling chemistry from the get go so when you put these two together as a fake couple, things don’t look fake. It’s easy because it’s not real. Then, her family throws them a curve ball and everything changes. Separation: Yes They are separated a few times shortly, but there was no mention or suggestion of other partners during this time. I had fun revisiting this world and catching up with the characters from the previous books in this series. Characters from the author's Wright series also made a cameo appearance. I just couldn’t connect with her character. Everyone else in the book I enjoyed, their friends were great- they all saw the connection between Gavin & Whitley. And Gavin was absolutely perfect. For being labeled a playboy, I never got that impression- especially when he hadn’t been with anyone in months.

He is referred to one of the evil rulers in human history. His last invasions have remembered as bloodshed battle because he invaded Gaul from the countryside and slaughter the entire village in their wake. He never spares a single person where he invades.

The only thing I found cute in all of this was when he’d tap her nose twice and be all condescending (lol). And that’s it. Closure: This had a cute ending with pretty good closure. It includes a bonus scene after the epilogue that I appreciated, but the author offers another bonus scene for what I imagine is more closure if you sign up for her newsletter. I didn't do that. I'm going to classify this as a HFN ending they're engaged. Her first day of school was living hell the moment when she met Aiden King, who promised her that he will destroy her. I’ve read Truths & Lies duet by her and I think I marginally enjoyed it (because my previous self was less judgmental and critical and more open-minded, BUT my friends on GR have brought out this overly vicious side of me and I feel this inexplicable need to excoriate every HS book I read *growl* 👹) Just at the moment when the secrets started coming out, it was the end and I wanted to continue with reading.

I loved everything about the design of The Cruel King and the Great Hero. Every element has been carefully hand-drawn with pen and watercolour. A whimsical score fits the mood perfectly, the two elements working in harmony to bring this storybook fairy tale to life. Okay lol. I avoided writing the review but then I couldn’t not vent about this book when I basically crawled through it fighting for my life jaksjdkdk

Every mystery surrounding their relationship is revealed at the end, and I really liked how it ended, although it was predictable. One of the most eccentric rulers of the European Renaissance, Rudolf II was perhaps the greatest collector of his age and an enthusiastic patron of the arts, sciences and pseudo-sciences. His castle complex at Prague featured a vast menagerie of animals, including lions, tigers, an orangutan and a live dodo bird. His cabinet of curiosities included a dizzying array of human and natural artifacts, organized by genre. I don’t rate a lot of books 4* my GR friends are very aware of that! This review is also based on Rina Kent’s other bully book in a boxset which was my favourite and the only one for me that had all the qualities I would expect in a possessive and obsessed hero.

This is what I get for craving a high school romance. I deserved every bit of pain I've felt while reading this book. The aforementioned acrylic puzzle in the treasure trove edition of the game is not of very good quality. The pieces didn't seem to want to fit together, and required so much force that I hurt my thumbs. The pieces also came apart easily, so I spent hours on a 130 piece puzzle that shouldn't have even taken one. Maybe the one I received was just defective, but I'm definitely never taking it apart again. First, let me tell you I recommend reading the prequel Cruel Kiss before reading this one. However, you don’t need to read the rest of the books of this series to jump into Cruel Kiss and Cruel King. I’ve been anticipating Gavin and Whitley’s story since meeting them in Cruel Truth! Couldn’t believe it when I finally got it on my Kindle! A-Aiden, what are you doing?” “For the last time, it’s King.” His face is completely blank except for the slight smirk. “You said you’ll report me for sexual harassment.” Push/Pull: Yes They both push away at times, but I'd say the H is the main pursuer of the relationship.
