When I am looking at lists, I like to try and build towards a theme or certain secondaries. I also have a bit of a rule for each list I build where I have a unit who has a job to stay in our deployment zone, to push out into the middle of the table and stay there, and something to strike into the heart of our enemies lines. As a Marine army, we have a depth of options to choose from when we are building these lists. I’ll be doing two lists that I think can show off the things Dark Angels can bring to the table. First off, we will be looking at some Ravenwing! Today let's continue our in-depth look at the massive roster of Space Marine units and how to use them. Today we talk Heavy Support! Though despite some minor shortcomings, the set is still a highly polished Games Workshop product, and the models are brilliant, no matter in which box they come. In the end, it comes down to a matter of choice, and it’s cool that we can choose between an S, M and L option for getting started with 8th Edition.

A Hellblaster, who is usually part of a Hellblaster Squad, is a Primaris Space Marine who is intended to serve alongside his brethren in the role of heavy fire support. Hellblaster Squads are armed with Mark III Belisarius Pattern Plasma Incinerators. Warhammer 40k 10th Edition has been unleashed upon us, and this week’s Hammer of Math takes a deep look at the changes associated with plasma and other weapons with the HAZARDOUS keyword.There’s a lot more to cover in 10th edition, and I’m as excited to share it with you as I am to play the new game. There’s going to be a lot to parse through, and if there’s anything you’re particularly interested in please let us know! All models in the unit may replace their Plasma Incinerator with a Heavy Plasma Incinerator: Standard: 36″, Heavy 1, S8, AP-4, 1 damage. Supercharge: 36″, Heavy 1, S9, AP-4, 2 damage. On a roll of a 1 to hit, the bearer is slain after all this weapon’s shots have been resolved.

With all these changes that have been made, I know my fellow brethren have been waiting with bated breath on the Goonhammer viewpoints of how our army will perform in this new bright future. Well, with what has been announced with the new Space Marine codex and with the possible new toys we will get from that merger, I’ll be focusing on the here and now! The state of the game for us followers of the first with the unleashing of 9th edition.The Characters and Dreadnoughts are the standout models in the force. I wanted my Characters to have the heroic bearing on the table that they have in the novels and to be visually distinct. To this end, I converted many of them from heroes of other Chapters or even from Forge World’s Primarch models.* Whilst they are within 6″ of this Warlord, models in Ravenwing units from your army that have Advanced this turn do not suffer the penalty for Advancing and firing Assault weapons.’ Alternatively, you could go for a regular Lieutenant and give him the Heavenfall Blade Relic to add more combat punch to the army.
