About this deal

I feel also touching the price range of 1k I know the KEF 3R are the reference and spending 1k on the Revel might be disappointing. I don't know if I have the right approach but I feel like that now. There are no fasteners on the exterior panels, but rather, the the addition of magnetic grilles with metallic brushed logos on the front of the speakers. Together, these add to the speaker set’s well-polished, properly-made feel, bolstering the overall quality of the M16. The crossover is at 2.1 kHz and we see rising distortion prior to that. Seems like the woofer is breaking up before its shift is over. The Focal are very nice, warm with a rich sound which offer great characters. The Revel offer the same but with a bit more bass. However I'm not sure in the high frequencies if the Revel are as good as the focal. from the listening looks like but not sure. High frequency response is supported by 1 inch aluminum dome tweeters that were derived from Revel’s Performa3 series. Low/Mid range frequency response is supported by 6.5” Aluminum cone woofers featuring low-distortion motor-structures for greater clarity and accuracy with improved sensitivity and output capability.

With well-recorded acoustic pianos, the M106 frequently gave me the impression that I was sitting in the room with the instrument. Tord Gustavsen's Changing Places (CD, ECM 1834) had a sense of dynamic immediacy as Gustavsen put the instrument through its paces throughout its frequency range. The last time I'd heard a jazz piano with such tactile realism was when I had front-center orchestra seats for a Keith Jarrett solo performance at New York's Avery Fisher Hall.

Revel Concerta2 M16 Bookshelf Speaker Measurements and Analysis

Although the Revel M105s can be shelf- or wall-mounted, they’re designed to be used on stands, specifically the Performa3 ‘M’ stands, which are 635mm high and intended for use with the M105 and M106 designs, the M106 being a slightly larger version of the M105 with a slightly larger (165mm) bass/midrange driver.

Changing things up with Raidohead’s Hail To The Theif and, even at the most confusing points, the teamwork of the CDS50, SA20 and Revel Concerta2 M16 proved to deliver an engaging performance. That "strange" treble of the 530 that you didn't like is what hooked me, just something magical about if for me. It gave me a taste of that original sin that had me hooked on good audio long ago. I am all for a big dose of accuracy and love measurements but in the end it better still have enough magic left for me to actually love music on it.Looking for a measurement of the C205 I found the link in the first post of this thread and I was very disappointed to find out that the C205 has a worse directivity than the C25.
