About this deal

Oil-free moisturizers are being released in abundance, these won’t feed your seb derm. SebClair appears to get around this problem by adding enough anti-fungal agents to kill the Malassezia as well as feeding them. It’s a bit of a poisoned chalice for the yeast. And it seems to work! It’s all about getting the balance right. But what about the other ingredients. Finding a great anti-dandruff shampoo is tough because almost 99% of the time there’s also known allergens and irritants being used as cleansing agents. What about Sebclair Non-Steroidal Cream?

Apply Sebclair shampoo on damp hair and massage gently. Leave to act for some minutes and rinse. Use 2/3 times a week or according to necessity. Aim: MAS064D (Sebclair) is a novel steroid-free cream containing multiple active ingredients. Objective of this pilot study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of MAS064D in the treatment of mild to moderate SD of the face. Sebclair (MAS064D) is approved for use in the European Union to treat seborrheic dermatitis. One of Sebclair’s claim to fame is that it contains no corticosteroids or immunomodulating agents. The paper’s authors admit that it is difficult to know which compound is responsible for Sebclair’s success as a treatment. The formula is also SLS free – more great news for sensitive scalps. Instead the cleansing ingredients Sebclair shampoo uses are; This product sounds quite interesting for rosacea and rosacea/SD sufferers. Little information about Sebclair is currently available on the internet.

Now the Sebclair Non-Steroidal Cream does not contain Salicylic Acid but it does contain another similar keratolytic (aka skin softening) exfoliant – lactic acid. Lactic acid is an ingredient also able to help hydrate skin, a perfect skillset for dry seb derm flaking. A complete standout of the Sebclair shampoo formula is the first ingredient listed– usually, you’ll find water, in the Sebclair shampoo you’ll find sorbitol. Sorbitol is a humectant aka an active which attracts water to itself. When such an ingredient’s near your scalp, skin can be hydrated and soothed. Great news for dry scalp sufferers. It’s also an ingredient used to break down biofilms. You’ll want to use a decently sized dollop of shampoo, the creamy liquid lathers with small bubbles meaning it takes a little more time to spread/work on your scalp. With no added fragrance and no ingredients added to cause a sensation on your scalp, you almost wouldn’t know Sebclair shampoo was in action – great news for sensitive scalps. On washing out the Sebclair shampoo rinses well, leaving hair feeling thoroughly cleansed. We’ll start with the active anti-fungal ingredient as these are what act to quell your skin’s population of seb derm causing Malassezia yeast. Glycyrrhetinic Acid - Has an anti-inflammatory action, and a demonstrated ability to inhibit 11-ß-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, an enzyme responsible for metabolizing hydrocortisoneSebclair Non-Steroidal Cream pairs the anti-fungal activity of piroctone olamine with a significant amount of natural anti-inflammatory ingredients. A perfect combination because dandruff caused by dry scalp, seb derm and psoriasis are all inflammatory skin conditions. Redness is inflammatory. Sensitivity is inflammatory, pain is inflammatory. The Sebclair Non-Steroidal Cream is designed to reduce the cause and symptoms of mild to moderate seb derm having an ingredients list to live up to their claims. Arriving in a medicinal looking box with clean and clear branding, the 100ml bottle of Sebclair shampoo is a neat size to keep in your everyday dandruff fighting arsenal. The flip top capped bottle is relatively easy to open, the formula has a low indistinctive scent and the shampoo’s easily dispensed with a soft squeeze. Branded with multi-lingual descriptions on the bottle, the inner leaflet gives clear usage instructions; Results: Use of MAS064D for 4 weeks was associated with a higher percentage of success in the MAS064D group than in the vehicle group (~68% vs 11%, P < 0.0001). The effects of MAS064D were significantly better than those of vehicle for investigator-assessed erythema and scaling, and patients’ assessed pruritus and global response to MAS064D (P ≤ 0.01). No patient in the MAS064D

Sebclair shampoo for dandruff and seb derm was prior to 2016 owned by a pharmaceutical company called Sinclair. To this day bottles of Sebclair shampoo – like the one we’ve tested today still bear the logo of Sinclair. Sinclair Pharma don't seem particularly keen on ingredients lists but this is from a leaflet they had created to promote Atopiclair to "marketing partners, specializing in Dermatology": This recently published paper investigates the effectiveness of a `novel steroid-free cream containing multiple active ingredients’, called Sebclair to treat facial seborrheic dermatitis. Alglycera 1% (glycyrrhetinic acid from liquorice root & allantoin) Anti-inflammatory and keratolytic

Liquorice root extract – a skin conditioner helpful in reducing flaky dry skin, anti-irritant, anti-inflammatory Alglycera is a compound combining the anti-inflammatory properties of glycyrrhetinic acid and the keratolytic properties of allantoin. Vitis Vinifera - Restructures and restores skin elasticity andfirmness, protects the skin from free radicals Please tell us more about your hyaluronic supplement and what you have read about it with relation to rosacea and / or seb derm. Many thanks! The authors state “We believe that the major activity is probably due to the synergistic effect of both piroctone olamine, for its antimycotic action, and glycyrrhetinic acid, for its anti-inflammatory action.”

Now onto the ingredients, do they work? Are they going to be effective for you? Should you be wary of any potential allergens, irritants or sensitizers? Exiting the 30ml tube as a white, rich cream with a very gentle fragrance you can’t quite put a finger on the Sebclair Non-Steroidal Cream is smooth and easy to massage in.BTW if it helps, one easy way to cope with difficult spellings is to copy & paste a word from something you know is right. Anyway, please don't let this put you off writing. Your posts are always interesting and worth reading. It looks as though apart from the ingredients they have in common (Vitis Vinifera, Telmestine, Vitamin E, Shea butter, Glycyrrhetinic Acid), Atopiclair has Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid, while Sebclair has Isohexadecane, Bisabolol, Piroctone olamine and Allantoin. However, these might not be complete ingredient lists and it is possible that they are even more alike than the above would suggest.
