The Seiko 5 line of watches was first introduced in 1963 and was Japan’s first-ever automatic day-date watch. The SRPG39 is one of many watches in the Siko 5 line. Even with the long lug-to-lug, the lugs drape down over my wrist, making the watch look smaller and a bit more compact. The fit is snug, and I can honestly say that this is one of the most comfortable watches I have ever worn on my wrist. Firstly, the iconic tuna shape is bold, different, and unique. This is a dive watch, but its design makes it look like no other. With this said, the almost round case with aggressive case details (shrouds) makes it stand out as a very sporty watch. The purpose of the ”shroud” is to work as a case protector/case guard to keep it well protected. represents the original five key features of every Seiko 5 still present today: Automatic movement, Day-date display, Water Resistance, Recessed crown and Durable case and bracelet. The hands too are large. The hour hand is arrow-shaped and painted white. The minute hand is painted yellow to match the color theme of this watch. It is sword-shaped and of course, has Lumibrite on it.
