About this deal

Liquid fertiliser is generally more expensive compared to granules. Bear in mind that if you have been using granules, you will need to convert your equipment to deliver the liquid fertiliser. If weeds are growing within the lawn, control them using a selective weed killer to make sure that you are not going to harm the lawn

Even though on every bag of fertiliser you’ll find a recommended application rate, I think it’s best not to use it, instead I would use half. To prevent over applying and for better lawn coverage, spread the fertiliser in one direction (in straight lines) using half and then spread the second half going in another direction, at a perpendicular angle (90°). Squeeze the soil in the palm of your hand; if it forms a sausage shape and stays together when you open your hand its clay based soil. If it crumbles into a few pieces then a sandy base is more likely. Test 2: Although the applications of our grass seed vary massively, grass seed is best sown in late summer and early to mid-autumn, although can be grown earlier in the spring and summer months. There are a few reasons why grass seed performs so well during late summer and autumn months, the soil is warm, there is less competition from weeds and the soil is at its warmest - assisting the germination and growth of the seed.NITROGEN RICH GRASS FERTILISER – The high nitrogen content (NPK 10-4-4) of our lawn feed will improve your grass’ lush green leafy growth during Spring & Summer. The Phosphorus aids healthy grass roots & shoots whilst the Potassium gives a strong, hardy & more durable grass, to give you an all year round great looking lawn. Also when you’re filling up your lawn spreader make sure you do so on a path or driveway. This prevents any granules from gathering in one spot on the lawn as this would just overfeed, burn and kill the grass in that particular area. Organic Or Synthetic Fertiliser?

It is not ideal as the first or last feed of the year due to its limited range of nutrients but is excellent from late spring to early autumn. Use a granular feed to start and finish the lawn year. When the frosts have passed and things are looking as though they are starting to warm up, overseed the entire turfed area. We recommend overseeding the entire area so that the new grass seed blends well with the grass that is already there. Ideally you are going to want soil temperatures to be around 8 - 12 degrees before you start sowing any of our grass seeds.Loam soils are that in between bit. You can use whichever fertiliser you like and which ever your lawn prefers.
