About this deal

Speedlites can be combined as slave units but only the Canon 580EX II, 580EX and 550EX Speedlites can act as slave masters. The catchlight panel is only useful to a certain distance as the reflection size becomes too small to be useful at some point. As can be expected from Canon's top-of-the-line flash, the Canon Speedlite 580EX II Flash features a wide range of controls including Flash exposure is controlled by the camera. Different flashes will give the same results, with the only difference being if they have enough power and if they are ready to shoot fast enough.

The answer may be obvious to owners of camera bodies without a built-in flash, but not so clear to those using bodies with a built-in flash. Note that given a fixed ISO setting, the longer your shutter speed, therefore the more effect that ambient light and any resulting preflash motion blur will have on the image. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from stat to state. The 580EX flash is compatible with all film and digital EOS cameras as well as G-series and Pro-1 PowerShot digital cameras. The flash includes two features especially for digital photography. EOS 20D and EOS-1D Mark II* digital SLR users will especially appreciate the Speedlite 580EX flash's ability to auto-compensate for the size of the CMOS sensor, and zoom the flash head automatically to match the effective focal length conversion. This feature allows the Speedlite 580EX flash to maximize the efficiency of its light distribution and produce more flashes from a set of batteries. When used with the EOS 20D or 1D Mark II digital SLR cameras, the flash and camera communicate to make fine adjustments to auto white balance by electronically monitoring the charge level of the batteries and the duration of each flash burst, resulting in consistently accurate colour for every shot. When this option is selected the flash will flash stroboscopically, in sync with the shutter as it cross the focal plane. Although this allows the 580EX II to synchronize with shutter speeds higher than 1/200-second it also reduces light output as shutter speeds move progressively past the standard maximum sync speed. vs. up to 190' (58 m)(ISO 100 at 105mm) for the Canon Speedlite 580EX II Flash (same as the 580EX).

External flashes such as the Canon Speedlite 580EX II Flash are one of the most popular accessories among Digital SLR (and film SLR for that matter) owners. The 430EX II is a marvelous flash with near-instant and silent recycling and loads of power and features. It has only a half-stop less measured power and potentially faster recycling than the 580EX II.The wireless remote capability of Canon's Speedlite flashes (discussed above) offer even far greater advantages. Canon stopped recommending lithium throw-aways when they realized they got too hot with heavy pro use. Lithium are great if you're traveling super light and want to bring a few sets of these cells on a long trip where you won't be able to charge them, or if you want to be able to leave a set in the flash and have them still fresh and ready to go ten years from now, but for all other uses, use eneloop.

If your subject distance is consistent (formal portraits for example), a manual flash output setting can eliminate shot-to-shot exposure variations. Users of older and non-sealed bodies will not get this final sealing protection, though the rest of the flash is sealed. Those using Canon bodies with 45 focus points (1-Series bodies) should take note that the Canon Speedlite 430EX Flash's AF assist only covers up to 9 focus points.Slightly better than most flashes from Japan for at least the past 40 years, actual power is only about 0.8 stops less than rated, rather than a full stop as usual. This operating mode allows you to set the 580EX II to fire repeatedly, during a single long exposure. You can set the firing frequency (flashes per second, expressed as Hz, from 1-199 per second), the total number of flashes during the exposure, and the Accessory flashes such as Canon Speedlite 580EX II Flash are some of the most important pieces of equipment in my kit.

This dial allows you to scroll through the options available in a particular feature set. The Select Dial is active only when a feature set is active (blinking). The Senderr will control all receivers set to the same channel. Receivers set to a different channel will not be affected. Flashes can all fire at even power (Ratio Off), or you can set groups A, B and C to fire at different manual flash power levels. Press (don't hold) the Zoom/Wireless Select Button until Ratio blinks, then turn the Select Dial to make your choice. Press the Select/Set Button on the Master unit, then turn Select Dial to set the actual power level for each group.E-TTL II and the previous E-TTL are Electronic-Through-the-Lens metering modes that fire a preflash to determine how powerful the immediately-following actual flash needs to be. At certain shutter speeds, the second curtain starts to close before the first curtain is completely open - standard flash mode needs a wide open aperture for the instant it flashes light. The zoom setting can be set manually (for creativity) or automatically by the camera communicating with the flash. probability: typeof mcxPresetParam.probability === 'number' ? mcxPresetParam.probability : 100, //0 - 100%
