About this deal

Lezyne Super Pro GPS comes only with ANT+ and Bluetooth connectivity, unlike most modern bike computers that also feature Wi-Fi. It features a GPS/Glonass chipset, in addition to an integrated barometer and accelerometer, for superior data recording and elevation readings. And it offers up to 28-hours of battery runtime.

For a Super or Macro GPS, hold down the 'Enter' and 'Lap' buttons on the device while connecting it to the computer. For a Micro or Mini GPS, hold down the 'Enter' and 'Menu' buttons while connecting them. The computer immediately recognizes the GPS devices and immediately performs a firmware update. Oooh, I'm veering towards the negative again. Having used the near-identical Super GPS on every ride for perhaps a year, I'm niggled that few – if any – of its existing niggles have gone. Bar the new landscape display option, a smoother case and better waterproofing for the micro USB port (which was clumsy but never a problem unless you dropped it in a deep puddle), little has really changed. RoutingWhen you try to plug in the device and the computer doesn't recognize it, you may need to plug it in in bootloader mode. This mode is under different button combinations for the Mini / Micro devices and Super / Macro devices. The direct-sunlight readability is fine, and the system also allows you to change the color scheme (light/dark). Battery Life Setup on the computer itself is simple through Lezyne’s companion app, with all the data options you’d expect and need, as well as phone alerts thanks to Bluetooth Smart connectivity. The computer can auto-sync ride data to Strava, but it’s pretty slow. The device is chunky, but then that huge battery has to be housed somewhere. FAQ What is the best GPS computer for cyclists? Obviously, everyone who reads this will have to take it with a grain of salt because it’s coming directly from us, but there seems to be some confusion about the navigation and mapping features of the devices so here goes: Navigation requires loading a route from your phone to the computer. There's no pre-loaded base map, but there are turn-by-turn directions. Routing doesn't always seem to follow the least traveled roads or greenways, in my experience although you are able to select your preferences in the app, according to Lezyne. The ability to do this is a little hidden right now, but they claim to be adding a pop-up feature that will make it much more clear.

To update your Lezyne GPS unit, you'll need a Windows or Mac computer. No other operating systems are supported. Updating your Lezyne GPSYou can also look forward to compatibility with Strava and other 3rd party apps, including auto-sync. If when you try plugging in the device, the computer isn't recognizing it, you might need to connect it in bootloader mode. It's different button combos for the Mini/Micro devices and Super/Macro devices. Another neat option is the ability to set the unit in landscape or portrait mode; I liked landscape, which makes a bit better use of screen area. For the tech nerds out there obsessed with data and training the Super Pro pairs with ANT+ and Bluetooth accessories. Power meters, heart-rate monitors, cadence sensors etc. are all compatible with the new Super Pro. Bottom Line Tell us what the product is for and who it's aimed at. What do the manufacturers say about it? How does that compare to your own feelings about it?
