About this deal

It has some really cool features to optimize comfort. For example, small magnets are sewn into the door fabric to make coming and going as easy as possible. You can also set up a little sheltered foyer with your trekking poles by slotting them into the notches in the tent door. For the vast majority of campers and climates, though, Naturehike tents are a comfortable and reliable choice. That said, you have to bear in mind that low-budget gear won’t be the best for extreme conditions, and it’s not reasonable to expect it to perform as well as top-of-the-range expedition gear.

When it comes to weight, price and quality, you really can’t do much better than the Naturehike Cloud Up 2. However, the tent is definitely cramped inside. If you want something roomier but which is still this light, then get the Cloud Up 3P– or be prepared to spend a lot more. Note: The Cloud Up 2 will not fit two adult winter sleeping bags! Take a look at the picture below. My winter bag is so poofy that it takes up almost the entire width of the tent. The Cloud Up performs well in the wind, too. A combination of a strong frame, low peak height, and half-dome design will keep it standing if bad weather rolls in.The only downside I can see is the relatively limited gear storage space. Although the Cloud Up 1 is also a little heavier than some of the other tents we have reviewed, it should be kept in mind that it’s both double-skinned and also freestanding. Taking that into account, both the weight and price of this thing are actually quite impressive. The rainfly can resist up to 4000mm of water, while the bathtub-style floor will help prevent any water from seeping up through the ground. So long as you respray the waterproof coating after each heavy rainfall and use the included tent footprint, this tent should last you for many camping trips in the great outdoors. The upgraded version has fixed many small issues with the first version, making this a really comfortable and reliable tent. I’d absolutely recommend it for two people, and you’ll have enough space to bring along your dog, too. If you want to get a version of the Cloud 1 with an extra vent for increased airflow and reduced condensation, you can opt for the upgraded version.

Here’s an in-depth look at how the Naturehike Cloud Up 1 performs in the real world. Waterproofing & Wind-Resistance The video below shows the Naturehike Cloud Up 2 in really high winds. It’s not my video, but it gives you a good idea. Tent material : pale grey, pale green or red ( B3 breathable mesh 20D nylon fabric) / orange or green (B3 breathable mesh 210T polyester fabric) INSECT PROOF - with B3 breathable mesh, you can still ventilate your tent without 10 million mosquitoes inviting themselves in for the evening. The seams are not sealed, which can increase the risk of leaking in extended lousy weather. This is a shame in a tent of this price but due to the exceptional design, I’d still recommend it for cyclists.

Cloud Up 2 vs. FlyCreek HV UL2

My only concern would be if you are tall. Then your feet or head might touch the walls and you’d end up wet from condensation. And, as mentioned before, the Cloud Up 2 is definitely not big enough to fit two poofy winter sleeping bags! The bathtub-style floor will help prevent water from seeping up from the ground, and the included rainfly will prevent your tent floor from scratching or wearing thin.
