About this deal

Oral-B offers a variety of replacement heads to ensure you can find the one that best suits your oral care needs. The below brush heads fit all of our electric toothbrush handles (except Oral-B iO). Browse below our entire line of Oral-B replacement brush heads. Both brushes come with thestandard ‘Daily Clean’ mode. They both then have a Sensitive mode. It is only the Pro 3 3000 that has the ‘Whitening’ mode. As the name implies this mode is more gentle. It is designed to offer a softer, but thorough clean. It helps those with sore or inflamed gums, but reducing the number of movements in the brush head, making for a more comfortable brushing experience, until the sensitivity has gone or reduced. This mode is great if you are suffering from gum disease. With the NiMH battery I expected the worst, but – much to my surprise – battery life isn’t actually that bad. In tests, a full charge kept the battery running for 43 minutes, or roughly 21 brushes, so you’re looking at charging every 10 days or so. More expensive brushes should see you through two weeks or more, but an overnight charge every 10 days is hardly onerous.

Lasting up to 16 days or 66 minutes in our testing, that is an extra 4 days or 16 minutes of usage time. Smart 6 6000 vs Genius 9000

The Pro 3 3000 has a slightly revised design. It looks a little cleaner. Unlike the 2000, it does not have a rubber grip that runs the length of the brush handle. Instead, the only grip on the front is the panel that contains the power button.

On the rear of the handle rather than raised plastic ridges, the 3000 has a more subtle dimpled surface. There is not much difference in the size and weight all told, only a few grams but sit them side by side and we think that most would prefer the in-hand feeling of the Smart 5. A new magnetic charger means the brush can be recharged in as little as 3 hours, rather than the more typical 12.The Smart 5 5000 comes supplied with a more suitable holder too. It sits on a work surface rather than needing to be attached to a wall. It is our opinion is smarter and less unsightly. You just need to pop your phone in it, which takes a couple of seconds compared to the tens of seconds with the genius brush configuration. You phone then sits in portrait or landscape orientation and shows the on-screen timer. Ultimately, all of the brushes will provide a very good clean to the teeth and gums if used correctly. It’s a bit of a hassle as you need to stand almost perfectly still in front of your camera and a smartphone holder like this is not what most of us want in a bathroom. Below, is a list of models we have compared to one another, plus some that we have compared to their Sonicare equivalents.

There is no battery in the case, to charge the brush and anything connected via the USB cable the case has to be connected to mains power. The reality is, you could use any mode on the brush to clean your tongue just ending the clean sooner. Although the speed and number of oscillations will be different. Both come with a premium travel case and a 2+ week battery life. A visible pressure sensor, 2 minute timer and pacer are built-in too. iO Series vs Genius X iO Gentle Care: the gentlest iO Refill for a smooth brushing experience. Cushioning outer ring with thinner filaments to protect gums, high density of extra soft bristles for a gentle clean Aside from this the two brushes feel the same in hand, weigh the same and have the same warranty, they both come with a charging stand and 1 brush head in the box. Pro 2 2000 vs Pro 3 3000 Kids/Junior series: Variations of the Vitality, Pro and Smart Series brushes aimed at kids and teens. Often slightly smaller and featuring favourite characters or more colourful designs.

Sensitive Clean: for a gentle clean, comes with ultra-thin bristles that are tough on plaque but gentle on gums You too get a visible pressure sensor, but this now lights up not only red to alert you when you brush too hard, but green too, to show you are using just the right amount of pressure. With only a couple of slight differences between these two models, the Pro 3 3000 is the more premium and expensive of the two. But it doesn’t make it the one to go for. The other big plus with the iO Series 9 is charging. You get not only two weeks’ worth of charge in just under three hours, but also a slimline travel case that allows you to charge the brush while in-situ. While it’s due to be superseded by the new iO Series 10, this is not just the best Oral-B toothbrush, but the best electric toothbrush you can buy.

Sometimes toothpaste can build up under the brush head and solidify to quite a tight bond. Then, when the brush head is ready to be replaced, it can break when removing it to leave this piece behind. To prevent this, we recommend the cleaning and maintenance routine noted in the manual. You have to stand in front of your smartphone when brushing and can’t really move as the brush movements need to be seen by the camera. The 3000 is available in a few different variants, meaning different handle colours and brush heads included. However, typically you will get just 1 brush head in the box. That is usually the CrossAction head, like that supplied with the Pro 2. Given that this icon only lights up when the mode is selected, it is hard to tell, but the Genius 9000 does offer a Tongue Cleaning mode that the Smart 6 does not.
