About this deal

This is basically a slife of life of a tiny snake as he just keeps getting stronger (but, so far, not bigger) with a fervent religious belief in the dungeon core that made him. It's primarily a comedy, especially in so much as the snake and all other characters can't understand each other and the way they fail in that is fairly humorous. It also gets pretty warm hearted later on when, despite the communications barrier, they do good by each other. I hung like that for a long time. Hours. More, maybe. The slow-venom was losing its effect, but it didn’t matter. It was too late.

I would not forget - and if I had to, I would cause myself to suffer even further, should it let me achieve our revenge against the Aridae. That, too, would be added to the things that it had done. It had caused this. A thought-hiss kept my spore-puppets from staring; I didn’t know how long their eyes could suffer through the radiance. Already, I had been forced to remove the effects of [Ambusher’s Vision] on myself, flexing the tiny muscles around my eyes that controlled it. The light was bright, vibrant, and unforgiving. The cavern’s edges were split in places; numerous small-tunnels dotted the walls. The sight was comforting, though I knew that each was an area from which a bad-thing could emerge. Still, each was a place that the mother Aridae could not follow. But the later part of the story is what made me lose interest in the book so far. Not only does the little snake get friendly with humans, he gets super attached to them. To the point that his whole new life revolves around them. And to make things worse, there is of course a huge language barrier since they are different species. which cannot be overcome with a skill like telepathy; or showing words in his illusion ability like his status or the status of things he ate... but I guess this is what the author was going for. Simply amazing. I waited until I caught up with the last chapter. Usually, I review at chapter 10, but this story gripped me and wouldn't let me go. Ok, here is the review: Any thoughts that I had of escape were quietly erased, eased into their helpless passing by the combination of blood loss and the slow-venom. Though I had hoped to train my venom resistance further, there were limits to what I could do by myself. I had been forced to inject myself with my own venom. The pain had been terrible; agonizing, even. Yet for the Great Core, I had done it.

A portion of the numbness left my mind and length. I wriggled with greater force, fighting against the slow-venom’s effects. Still, the shimmering threads of white held on tightly. I leaned toward the next of the gathered bad-things, avoiding its thrashing, and sank my fangs into unguarded flesh. [Sting] sparked from my fangs, jumping from their tips. The bad-thing twitched minutely. The Snake That Eats Its Own Tail] had given me the ability to heal. When caught by the Aridae’s threads, I had almost cursed at the Great Core for that. Why, I had thought, had I been caught in a situation where I couldn’t even reach my own tail to heal? It had felt as if I was being taunted; as if a way out was being dangled in front of my fangs, only to be pulled away at the final moment every time. I had seen enough of death to know that. I had seen the way that injured bad-things fell limp and quiet as blood burst from their skin-flesh. I had seen the way that they had struggled at first, desperately fighting to survive. I had seen the way that they had given up. It felt strange to feel a connection to those bad-things. I had always considered myself as something above them, something greater than them, because I knew it to be true. I was created by the Great Core. The thought-light told me that I had great potential.

I really like the world building, it's detailed, and intriguing. I feel the author explains just enough to keep us on our toes. the world building is excellent in this book, and I rate it a 5 star. the plot is a 4.8 star. Style: The chapters are just the right length. The sentences flow freely and the paragraphs are the perfect length. I was thirsty again - yet, this time, I would wait. I would bear it. There were things that I needed to do. Story: Hands down the most gripping tale of a monster MC I have ever read. Paradox went a long way from being a scared snake in chapter one to the little guardian of chapter 135. He uses the skills of the bad things around him and now he even chooses to pass some of them over. That shows he is capable of foresight. I don't want to spoil too much but Paradox's Coreless grew with him.
