new life in a land that held promise but also immense difficulties. As writer-director Robert Eggers mentions in the commentary included on Note: moving away from the projector to the Philips to compare HDR10 and Dolby Vision layers, we get a slightly darker overall image in the DV layer but very little other significant differences between them. There’s a touch more colour saturation in the sky at that shot previously mentioned at 3 minutes from the DV layer and in some comparison photos taken (not with appropriate equipment it must be said), the DV layer had a slightly cooler look it - although to the eye and in motion, these differences were for the vast majority of the time negligible. The designed muted and desaturated colour scheme renders any real differences to these two HDR variants almost moot.

UPDATE: Second Sight has announced that is has delayed the release to June 20th 2022, as it is currently working on a new HDR grade supervised by director Robert Eggers. More traumas of course accrue around the family, and in the film's final act, William seems about to go Grand Guignol on his (surviving) And while, yes, they had sought to escape religious persecution (or at least religion defined by others, which they may have perceived as Studios & Distributors: Parts and Labor | RT Features | Rooks Nest Entertainment | Maiden Voyage Pictures | Mott Street Pictures | Code Red Productions | Scythia Films | Pulse Films | Very Special Projects (as Special Projects) | Second Sight Films Scream Factory’s Collector’s Edition Ultra HD of Halloween III: Season of the Witch is a highly satisfying release, featuring outstanding A/V quality and great extras. It’s one of the best upgrades for these films thus far. Highly recommended.Plot: What’s it about? Video: How’s it look? Audio: How’s it sound? Supplements: What are the extras? The Bottom Line Plot: What’s it about? Interestingly, there do appear to be some differences, much more so that I had thought. Detail is a touch more refined in the textures, including sharper edges of buttons and a touch more sharpness to strands of hair (but bear in mind this was on a 92” projection screen). Brightness is interesting as the differences change on a scene-by-scene basis – the opening medium shot of Taylor-Joy’s face on the UHD is a lot lighter than the previous Blu, revealing more detail in in the brim of her hat and in the shadow of her face; however the shot of the family leaving against the beautiful sky is significantly lighter on the previous Blu. And finally, the colours do seem a touch more desaturated on the 4K version, in line with an overall impression that the contrast ratio on the 4K disc appears to be less than that on the previous Blu. Is it an improvement? In terms of detail, yes it is. The rest however give the image a slightly different look that is neither better or worse, just… different.

There's an overt reference to liturgically towing the line (in a manner of speaking) from the very first moments of The Witch, when There's an argument to be made that the film's final "reveal" hints at something duplicitous in one of the major characters, but, again, The reviewer reacts to that portrayal. And so let me just begin this review by apologizing to any and all Puritans who may read it and who are

begins to fray, and suspicions arise, leading to a weird, almost hallucinatory, ambience where Katherine's increasing hysteria may or may not And then there are the more overt horror elements, which the film isn’t afraid of hiding. Eggers shows the witch of the woods stealing Samuel, before murdering him and slathering herself in his smushed-up body in a quite disgusting and harrowing scene. The Witch is a slow burn of sorts, but when it does get into the nastier parts, it’s gruesome and impactful and it hits you hard.

Second Sight Films are bringing out The Witch 4K UHD + Blu-ray Limited Edition this month in the UK. perhaps ironically) give the film a rare feeling of authenticity, as if some long ago banished history had suddenly sprung to life and been whether perceived or real (not that The Witch is concerned with that aspect), into the everyday is what continually gives the film its

The Video

A gorgeous film, an arthouse folk horror full of beautiful imagery and sounds, comes with a brand-new director overseen Dolby Vision color grading in one of Second Sight’s oh-so collectible 4K limited edition sets. This is highly recommended. The Witch (Limited Edition) is out on 4K Ultra HD Combo in the UK 25 July 2022 from Second Sight Films It's a curse because Kaulder has to live on eternally with the memory of his wife and daughter who were killed by the witch. This is the type of emoting that escapes a Vin Diesel performance. He's great in the Fast and Furious movies because Dominic Toretto is more, or less, Diesel. When he's called upon to offer up a bit more emotion his performances usually fall flat. That's the case here. Kaulder has a tortured past, but Diesel is unable to convey that through his emotions. So, while it may be a curse for him to live on and on with the memory of his murdered family, that sort of pain never comes across in Diesel's acting.
