All the boys in this book are scum and cannot be redeemed. If the author had made that clear instead of making excuses, having them owning up to them… I would still have thrown the book into the fire but I would have not jumped in the remaining skeleton of it just to make sure it was completely destroyed.stalks wren by going to an art show she was supposed to attend with her family, but they ditched her, so he gives her company instead, and urges her to be confident and buy a painting she likes. Realising that Wren is not getting much sleep due to the baby and breastfeeding Crew wants to do something special for her. His older brother Grant makes a suggestion to allow them some child-free time which enables them to reconnect before Christmas. Yet he’s the only boy I’ve ever let touch me… the romance between the two is not healthy, and it baffles me that this book is starting to trend amongst teens and be pitched as a spicy rom-com. i don’t even know when to stop pointing out the red flags bc this whole book is little red riding hood. let’s stop romanticizing toxic relationships (and books) in 2023.crew wants to be an alpha male so bad…he’s 5 seconds away from turning into a werewolf. his obsession with wren is all centered around wanting to “corrupt” her…WHAT. it's a coming-of-age story, especially for our girl wren, who throughout this book goes on a journey of liberating herself sexually and breaking out of the box she has put herself in her whole life, and the boy, crew, who helps her accept herself. But beyond that I wonder what is going through the authors mind… maybe she will give him a character development? I could get behind that.
