About this deal

I spied Aura, with its drop-dead gorgeous, emerald-colored bottle. (Normally, bottles don't matter to me, but this one drew my attention -- you don't see many dark green bottles with the appearance of faceted jewels in mainstream perfume shops.) Unique, stylish, and enchanting. I had no idea what the notes were (the display offered no clues, and no one was available to educate me... I didn't feel right pulling a sales associate away from a sale-in-progress just to answer my questions about a perfume I was merely planning to sample that day.) Could this Mugler be "the one" that I could fall for? the photography may be of a different size of the same product. Please read the product description This is exceptional ! Instant love at first sniff ! Wearing this for the past 5 days now and can’t get myself to wear anything else. Looks like a new signature is about to happen .... I got a sample of this today and I'm honestly not sure. it's a quality fragrance, of that there is no doubt, but I find it a little unsettling. It makes me feel uneasy, and that could be a good thing or a bad thing. It's certainly intriguing.

If you watch the trailer for the perfume the ad creates a vision of a deep rainforest that this smell truly mirrors in its entirety. I was able to compare it with Marc Jacobs Decadence and they surely belong to the same blood line. They have that similar green vibe at the opening, but their dry down compartmentalizes them. Decadence has a very similar spicy dry down with Valentino Uomo while Mugler Aura has her own formula of vanillic-greenish sweetness to it (at least for me, okay?) Sigh, why can't fragrances I love perform this outstanding? Come to think of it, that reminds me of some people as well, lol.i was seriously expecting to hate this, even as a mugler stan. this one seems extra controversial. on paper, aura truly doesn't look like something i would normally go for (not much of a green fragrance enjoyer) but omfg. OMFG was i wrong this has got to be one of the most difficult fragrances to describe.... like i don't think my words will be able to do it justice. on initial application this is def a bit medicinal as others have said, but not in a bad way, kind of in a sexy way ?? if cough syrup was in costume as a peach bellini perhaps ??? and then it dries down to literally bubblegum. bubblegum with the smallest hint of sharpness from the rhubarb leaf i assume. it's so deliciously sweet but also really fresh, and also feminine (vanilla, pear) but also masculine (coumarin, amberwood?) all at the same time. it's very hard for me to make out individual notes but that's what i'd guess is making it smell this way. i am perplexed yet delighted

Like an immersion in the heart of lush vegetation with pure and green freshness, this accord unveils a duo of green and floral notes: the original combination of Rhubarb Leaf with tangy and crunchy notes, with luminous Orange Blossom and deliciously feminine. Together, they diffuse an intense vibrant freshness That’s the thing about Mugler’s creations - love them or hate them, but one has to admit they’re not boring and in fact, quite creative. In the world of mainstream fragrances (which I’m not bashing - in fact, I unabashedly admit my collection is mostly so), I think the fragrance world needed a juice like this. I can easily say I’ve never smelled anything like it. It’s very unique, and absolutely must be tried, if only to say you did. This is a scent you can dislike, but admire for its rebel yell. It eschews the mass-appealing designer template, with its quirky, niche personality. It’s a designer house willing to die on a hill for “the principal of the matter.”

I sound like I hate this, when I don't. It is quality, and it is distinctive. If you can ignore the whole, medicine thing, it does have a lovely fresh, fizzy quality. It also reminds me of when you walk into the perfume section of a department store and you're hit by a cloud of every perfume under the sun. They may clash, but they also come together in joyous harmony, filling the air.

The composition is not overly complex. A note of creamy, milky gardenia has replaced the zesty orange blossom from the original. Smooth sandalwood, foody cinnamon and white musk shine through in the drydown. There's a hint of minty-green freshness throughout this composition, which smells slightly reminiscent of organic toothpaste. This perfume is exuberant, fresh, strong, unapologetic, and, dare I say, a bit of a hodge-podge in the best possible taste. Then the dry down... It's headachey, and green. The green I get is pine which is unfortunate because I am really not a pine lover. My grandad used to wear Coty - Aspen and this reminds me so much of him and their house. Which isn't a bad memory, but I much preferred his old spice Though very present all throughout the day, to me it doesn't really have a perfum-y vibe, but is more like a heavily scented summer lotion (without being overbearing though). After about 8 hours, the vanilla finally stops screaming, and surprisingly, the tropical green note survives it. Now, Aura is mainly a soft, ripe tropical fruitiness mixed with a delicate green camphor nuance and merest earthy, dust-like astringency, like a humid tropical jungle in a fairy tale, without any deadly, hostile creatures. This far dry down reminds me of Zoologist Bat, but Aura at this stage feels much gentler and easier to appreciate, whimsical yet adorable as well. There is definitely a tcp / germoline / deep-heat muscle relaxant cream vibe going on. It's kind of like you sprayed perfume over some antiseptic cream. I really really love the Aura EDP, but it's a bit too strong for warmer weather I think. After testing the EDT and really liking it too I figured maybe the Sensuelle would be a nice fit for use during warm weather since the EDT and EDP are pretty similar and I wasn't sure if getting both would be wise. It gives me a magical scent, a perfume that evokes a wild but calm nature, the perfect signature fragrance for the elves of the Lothlórien forest, a strange gourmand for those of us who have tried rhubarb-based pastries. The opening is all about challenging medicinal eucalyptus that smells like menthol, but worse. Many tones appear next. The aquatic notes probably include non-zesty citrus, lily, orchid, and aldehyde/ ozone, while perhaps the floral notes include rose, geranium, lily-of-the-valley, orange blossom, jasmine, and ylang ylang, but associated with that ambiguous "solar note" that is seldom added to floral notes to create a fresh-spicy aspect. The aromatic herbs are potentially eucalyptus, cinnamon, lavender, and oakmoss. The green note is clean and indicates freshly-cut leaves, stems, and grass, without being dirty or earthy, but with a hint of sweet-and-sour fruity-grape nuance. The base is about cedar wood, ambery-green resin (most probably, galbanum root), and cosmetic powdery notes (I bid for musk, violet, orris, vanilla or coumarin/ tonka, as well as marzipan/ almond without a doubt).
