About this deal

Efficient Specialists: Each member of your squad brings a unique blend of skills that you will need to carefully apply as you adapt to the ever changing scenarios. Feel free to chat, coordinate your starting locations, and plan strategies. It’s a “cooperative” game, remember? So you all either sink or swim together. After each player’s turn, they will roll dice to show where smoke will pop up around the house. Sometimes there is already a fire in or around these locations, causing the fire to spread. In the advanced game, there can also be hazardous materials added to the board, which can make the fires much more difficult to contain. The deeper you dive into Flash Point, the harder it is to manage all the moving pieces and fire spread. For this, I recommend an experienced gamer to help control the fire advancement stages. When smoke becomes flame, and flames turn to explosions, knowing the mechanics well is important.

Each player, in turn, will continue to perform these three steps indefinitely, until the game is either won or lost. While first impressions are very useful when trying to streamline the interface for people new to the game, don’t forget that we would also like to hear about any improvements we can make for the veteran players. Games are rated for how salty (competitive), tasty (replayable) and spicy (original) they are. The Salt Flash Point: Fire Rescue is a turned-based strategy game that places you in command of a squad of specially trained firefighters with the sole aim to rescue survivors form a raging structural fire. Flash Point: Fire Rescue, designed by Kevin Lanzing and published by Indie Boards & Cards in 2011, is a board game for 2 to 6 players, advertised as suitable for ages 10 and older (which I agree is the appropriate minimum age). It’s a family game of low complexity which is usually playable within 45 minutes. Many games claim to be “family” games while really only appealing to a certain age range/gender/mindset. But Flash Point: Fire Rescue truly is a family game. My first game involved four players ranging in age from 16 to 79, with both genders represented. Doesn’t get any more family than that!Flash Point: Fire Rescue is the digital adaptation of a board game about rescuing people from buildings on fire. The basic premise is simple: a house is aflame. You command a squad of firemen and penetrate the place, trying to rescue as many survivors as possible before the building collapses. Big question marks randomly appear on the map. Some of them hide survivors, other are false alarms. Once you find a person, you need to drag them outside the building, possibly avoiding catching fire during the process. This faithful recreation got successfully funded on Fig last year, and now is here for us all to enjoy. Who is it for, though? Flash Point Fire Rescue Urban Structures is a game for anyone who wants to expand their Flash Point Collection with new challenges and new places to fight the fires of Flash Point. If you end up being a fan of the base game, I recommend getting one or more of the many Flash Point expansions to give the game some extra replay value. Flash Point Fire Rescue: Urban Structures, from designer Kevin Lanzing, is an expansion for Flash Point Fire Rescue which adds two new city building boards and a new specialist Firefighter role for players to take on. The theme is where we had very different perspectives. My wife and both daughters find the thought of a house fire quite terrifying. While my youngest daughter was still willing to try the game my wife and oldest daughter weren’t interested in trying Flash Point at all. My son just doesn’t find the firefighting theme that interesting.

Flash Point: Fire Rescue is a co-operative game for 1-6 players from Indie Boards and Cards. The players take on the role of a team of firefighters trying to put out the fire in a house and rescue the people and animals trapped inside. You will be putting out fires, trying to control the risks of hazardous material, investigating points of interest and carrying casualties to the ambulance, all whilst trying to ensure that the house does not collapse due to too much damage caused by the fire. The common goal to get everyone out alive creates a sense of urgency that keeps players on their toes. Since everyone works as a collective unit, you’ll be communicating constantly. Your fire squad wins and loses together. Will your team go down in flames? Cons:The expansions to Flash Point add new boards, new rules and new characters as well, including a rescue dog - aww! The Spice Things become noticeably more difficult right from the setup. You have to randomly place, and then resolve, 3 Explosions. So, the center of my building was already an inferno, with three points of Wall Damage to boot! Add in the placement of 4 Hazardous Materials markers and 6 Hot Spots and you have all the ingredients for a bad day.
