Students will vital skills in: interpreting the significant meanings poems, understanding the writer's ideas within poems, understanding the social and historical contexts of poems, and analysing features of content, language, and structure.

The poem is a monologue in which the first person narrator — we can assume the poet — describes his state of mind while on holiday in Paris with a new friend. His previous relationship has ended and he explains that he is “on the rebound”, and wishes to enjoy a less serious liaison. of brushing against Tatiana—the crowd was pressed tight together as everyone pushed toward the exit— Language is a powerful thing. I can't even articulate how wonderful this love story portrayed fallible human nature stumbling over itself to express our weak desires, but this book does exactly that. Absolutely adorable!

The story took you from the characters during their teenage years to the current time with the characters. The love story wasn't too far fetched, but I really didn't care for the ending too much. I like my romances to have a happy ending and this one was just, eh.. whatever, for me. In Paris With You is very well written and a book to make you smile! I love reading this book so much! I’m not a poetry reader but this book definitely convert me! Each point of view is so honest and real that it can be easily relatable to readers. Tatiana’s expectation of love comparable to her favorite reads of Romeo & Juliet and Pride and Prejudice had me giggle to no end. I like Eugene’s careful protection of his heart and Lansky loving it all without putting up fences to protect himself. I like the lessons learned the characters experiences. I like how love can make adults act like teens. This book is a couldn’t put down kind of read and I recommend everyone to read it. This lesson enables students to build their knowledge of the content, language, and structure of James Fenton’s modern relationships poem ‘In Paris With You.’ In particular, students learn how word play, colloquial language, rhyme, and poetic structure can influence the mood and tone of a poem.

If you love poetry. If you love something unique. lIf you enjoy reading in verses. This book is for you!! Straight away we see the use of rhyme, which not only gives the poem an attractive rhythm but helps to put across the humour. From this opening line, one might assume the poem is going to be a somber affair, however, this is not the case. Note the use of colloquial language: “I’ve had an earful” clearly this person is not in a place where they are interested in love. This lends credence to the idea that the person has recently been through a breakup.

This story was actually in verses? So it was like a poem. Usually I don't usually go for these types of books so this was a pleasant surprise! I actually enjoyed the writing. It was organized and wasn't confusing. However, I felt sometimes the love thing went a little overboard. It was just a little much for me. Individually, these resources are worth more than double the price of the bundle, meaning that you can make a considerable saving!

Writing an extended analysis piece based upon how Sheers gets across the narrator's feelings in the poem, through the use of language and structure; In Paris with You was not my first experience in terms of “poetry fiction”, but I quite enjoyed the author’s style. More often than not, it reminded me of a narrative technique I had fallen in love with at the age of 16.But that’s not even all there is to it. My full name is Clémentine Morgane Mélusine Hécate Beauvais. so it's a good thing i'm an unobservant buffoon i guess??? because i really (really, REALLY) loved the writing of this book. it was, like. my favorite part. These engaging, varied, and informative lessons have been designed to help students gain a valuable understanding of the content, language, and structure features of a range of Love and Relationships poems. Each of the poems are widely studied, with some being from the Literary Heritage bank, and most being fixtures in examination board anthologies:

Funnily enough, this is not the only book out this year that was inspired by Eugene Onegin: see also Philip Hensher’s The Friendly Ones.]
