About this deal

Once the battery is empty, the motor will stop completely. And you’ll need at least 30 minutes to charge for one usage. From a conversation with the manufacturer, the following points are my understanding (in my own words)…… In-built timer– Helps you brush for 2 minutes, and notifies you every 30 seconds to change the area you are brushing. Frustratingly, the brush does not remember the last cleaning mode used. This means every time you use the brush, you will need to press the power button twice if you want to use the sensitive mode. 1 press to turn it on and launch daily clean, a second to get to sensitive mode. You can’t change it before turning the brush on.

This is because the cleaning effectiveness is governed by the speed of the oscillations and pulsations of the brush, and this speed is much higher in the Pro 4000 series than in the Pro 2000 models. Just to note, the maximum cleaning effectiveness for each model is achieved in the “Daily Clean” mode. The quadpacer is a handy on handle timer that buzzes every 30 seconds indicating when to change area of your mouth. Most people have a preferred side that they like to brush. This leads to an uneven clean with one side getting brushed really well and the other side being missed. The quadpacer timer buzzes are a constant reminder to brush your teeth more evenly. Visible Pressure Sensor Although the Oral-B Pro 2000 is a fairly simple and straightforward toothbrush, it still has all the features you need in an electric power brush, notably – The N at the end stands for Normal as it comes with the “standard” CrossAction Brush head. There is also a W variety which is Whitening and S which is Sensitive. The letter just represents the Brush Head that it comes with, the electric toothbrush handles are exactly the same. Should I go for the Oral-B Pro 2 2500 or Oral-B Pro 650 electric toothbrush?

Oral-B Pro 2 2000 - Q&A

At the front of the electric toothbrush handle, close to its base there are two icons. One is the battery indicator light and the other is the charging icon. I will discuss this more in detail later. The Pro 2000 removes plaque with what Oral-B describes as a “3D cleaning motion”. This 3D motion refers to the 3 movements made by the cleaning head as it cleans the teeth. The 3 movements are – Both offer the standard daily clean mode and a more gentle sensitive mode. But, the Pro 3 offers a third brushing mode, known as whitening. You can always store the handle on the plugged-in charging unit, and battery overcharge is prevented on this device.

Please note. Every effort is made to ensure the key differences listed are correct, but these differences are subject to change without notice. Products and the box contents can be changed without notice and different variants can exist. Because of my bad experience with the Oral-B battery I initially wanted to buy a Philips Sonicare DiamondClean but the ones with all bells and whistles (Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart HX9924/03) was more than twice as expensive as the Genius 9000. So at the end a bought a couple of Oral-B PRO 2 2000N ’s and one Oral-B Genius 9000N to see how the very best and best value differ in daily use. Both offer a 3D cleaning action via the small round brush head, but the Pro 1000 only offers 8,800 oscillations and 20,000 pulsations per minute, compared to the 9,900 and 45,000 of the Pro 2 2000. Whilst the difference exist the impact on your brushing and cleaning results are limited. The Pro 2 2000 on the other hand has a Li-Ion battery that lasts at least 14 days on a single charge.

Charging and Operating the Oral-B Pro 2000

For more discussion on this and whether to opt for electric or manual, see our article is there such a thing as an eco-friendly electric toothbrush. Conclusion: good cleaning results but consider the alternatives The CrossAction brush comes as standard with the Oral-B Pro 2 2500N. As the brush head size is quite small, it means that it easily accesses the most difficult of molar teeth. This in my view is the best brush head Oral-B make. This is because it has special bristles that are angled at 16 degrees, which allow it to clean close to the gum line. As I have already intimated earlier in this comparison, it makes complete sense to also look at the Oral-B Pro 2 2500, which is often the same price or cheaper than the Pro 2 2000. It is essentially identical and comes with a travel case included. In many instances, you get more for less. The grip on the rear of the Pro 3 3900 handle comes in the form of lots of dimples compared to the ridges on the 2900.

It has all the basic features that you need to have on an electric toothbrush and it is delivered at a great price. It features on my list for best electric toothbrush for gum disease and best electric toothbrush. There are not many electric toothbrushes on the market better than this one. Colored cleaning brush id rings allow the whole family to use the same handle but with their own brush head. So let us show you in a bit more detail how these two brushes differ and why we came to the conclusions we have. BlueTooth – If you have a Bluetooth enabled toothbrush from the Smart or Genius range it will connect automatically via Bluetooth and start the 2- minute timer.

Pro 2000 Power Handle

A 2020 life-cycle analysis of electric toothbrushes found that the average brush is 11 times more impactful than a manual toothbrush. The last difference, which I touch upon in a section of this comparison below is the price. The Pro 2000 is the cheaper of the 2 brushes.
