About this deal

This dwarf variety reaches a height of only 80 cm (31 inches) making it ideal for the smaller garden or for growing in a container. It produces an abundance of double creamy-white flowers and can tolerate most conditions including coastal situations. This shrub stays compact and neat and will rarely need any pruning. Philadelphus ‘Microphylluss’ Dobies strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3. Discussing fertilizer, this plant does best with a moderate application of fertilizer in the spring. I prefer a balanced fertilizer such as 10-10-10. A little fertilizer goes a long way with this plant, so be careful not to overdo it. Too much fertilizer will result in lots of green growth with fewer flowers. About light About soil condition, Philadelphus 'Little White Love' prefers moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. It also does well in sandy soil as long as it is not too dry. The plant is drought tolerant once established. About light

Philadelphus 'Manteau d'Hermine' – a compact variety with double, pompon-like flowers. H x S: 75cm x 1.5m Your Philadelphus should be moved to a larger container if its roots become overcrowded. Planting in a new, slightly larger pot will give the roots more space and allow for more soil around the roots which will help keep them moist and provide them with nutrients. Looks Good WithThis variety has large, white, cup-shaped flowers held on arching stems. These flowers are sometimes tinged pink as they age. It is quite a large shrub reaching a height of around 2.5 metres (8 feet). Philadelphus ‘Belle Etoile’ Plant bare-root plants in the dormant season (winter), when the ground is not frozen or waterlogged. Alternatively, pot up into a container to grow on

The key factor in pruning this shrub is timing. Pruning too early or too late will result in a failure to flower the following year. However, it is quite simple to prune this plant correctly and encourage an abundance of blossoms year after year. Philadelphus coronarius'Aureus' – the foliage of this philadelphus is a limey-golden green when young, giving it an added zing. Flowers are white and scented. Needs shelter from strong sun. H x S: 2m x 2.5m All varieties of this evergreen shrub blossom profusely, most with double white flowers and yellow stamens. In mid to late summer the entire shrub will be covered with blooms. These blossoms are very attractive to bees and butterflies and so are a good choice if you wish to entice wildlife to your garden. Most varieties will flower from June to July, though some are a little later. While aphids are unlikely to kill your plant, they can make photosynthesis more difficult because of the damage to leaves, this can gradually weaken the plant. Philadelphus Innocence is a large erect shrub with arching branches, laden with semi-double white flowers. It is highly scented and attractive to butterflies and bees. It reaches a height of 3 metres (10 feet) and a spread of approximately 2 metres (6-7 feet). Philadelphus ‘Lemoinei’Choose healthy stems without any buds or flowers, then, with a clean sharp knife, or secateurs, cut off a stem about 4 inches long. Remove the lower third of the leaves from the stem, dip the stem in rooting hormone powder and put into the prepared holes so that about one third of the stem is beneath soil level. Firm the soil around the stems and mist the pots with water. If your plant becomes affected with powdery mildew you will see white, powdery-looking patches of the fungus spreading across the leaves. This disease can lead to stunted and distorted leaves affecting the plant’s ability to photosynthesize. You should remove affected growth immediately. Encouraging the natural predators of aphids such as ladybirds, hoverfly larvae, lacewing larvae and parasitic wasps can help to keep them at bay, however often an infestation can build up before these insects are around in high numbers.

Pruning is a vital part of keeping your Philadelphus little white love healthy and looking its best. It helps to encourage new growth and can also help to control the size and shape of the plant. Pruning also helps to remove any dead or damaged leaves and stems. About Propagating Of course, they make a great addition to a white garden, but they also look good with blue flowering shrubs such as Ceanothus. In fact, their white blossoms go well with most colour combinations from cool blues and violets to hot reds and yellows. Pruning Advice The spring foliage of the Philadelphus Coronarius Aureus emerges a bright yellow and then fades to a chartreuse green when mature. During the early summer months, it offers up a display of abundant white flowers that many says have a slight lemon fragrance. It grows to a height to 1 ½ metres but can be pruned to a smaller size. The Philadelphus Coronarius Aureus grows well in partial shade which makes the hardy shrub an excellent choice for a woodland garden. It grows well in areas up to a zone H-6 hardiness. Its toughness makes it well suited to coastal regions. Philadelphus Belle Etoile You can plant container-grown plantsat any time of year, but they establish best when planted inautumn or spring

Little White Love' is fully hardy and prefers moist well-drained soil. Ensure you plant this beauty in a spot where your shrub will benefit from full sun or partial shade. Take softwood cuttings in springtime. If the weather has been exceptionally dry, water your parent plant a few days before taking cuttings. Cuttings should be taken in the morning when the plant is full of sap. Philadelphus are extremely easy to grow and are tolerant of most conditions. Planting and maintaining one of these shrubs is simplicity itself. Pay attention to pruning times to get the most abundant summer blooms. Light Requirements The temperature condition is perfect for Philadelphus little white love. They like it cool and shady, so a temperature around 60 degrees is ideal. They also like moist conditions, so make sure the soil is well-watered.
